1995

After 7 months of searching, we had finally found the location of the sixteenth artifact for our collection. After piecing together all of the stories and legends, we finally found a bit of truth. The Vial Of Fire was an ancient weapon that was said to be created by the Egyptians. In their time it was a medicine designed to give someone the ability to ignite in flames for a small amount of time, and was used mostly for cauterizing wounds of friends injured while building the pyramids. We had already found The Vial of Strength, and the The Vial of Speed from the same time period. Each of these vials had the last remaining ounces of the immensely powerful potions that made it possible for humans to make the pyramids on their own. After

I unsheathed my sword and prepared to send him to Davy Jones Locker. He began to shoot flames towards me but the speed that Ryan's sword gave me allowed me to move behind him before the flames even reached a few feet out. The flames moved through the air towards the others, but due to the sword it seemed like the entire world was moving a thousand times slower for me. Luckily due to speed the sword gave me I was able to recollect some of the serum from the air as it fell, and put it in a glass vial. After collecting the falling liquid from the air I waltzed over to the traitor. Rather than kill him, I just hit him with the back of the sword. I put the sword back into my belt and time resumed as it always had …show more content…
There was three of them that all joined the fleet at once. Their father Kelton Jamieson was one of the greatest navigators of all time, and a great friend of my father. They had been like brothers to me growing up, and the three of them had no hesitation in joining me on my mission. I removed the necklace from his head while keeping it around my neck. I walked back towards mess hall to deal with the traitor but was met with a disappointing surprise. I was met by all of my sailors standing with swords

Tired, with a headache, and not in capacity to maintain my eyes open, I remembered next day was Halloween, which was the last thing I remembered before falling sleep. I woke up and saw the watch, it was three o’clock a.m. I listened to a weird sound that came from my closet; it was soft, but I could hear it like a rat scratching the walls. Intrigued about what was happening, I woke up and walked towards the closet. The sound gave me the chills.…

A hill of aspens, glowing golden, shines on the right side of the trail while the left side is a pine-covered hill. Between the two is the trail, a magical escape from reality. This is my sanctuary of Buffalo Peaks wilderness. The trying experience of hiking through the mountains with 40 pounds on your back, the straps of your pack rubbing the skin off your hips and shoulders. The tension building in your muscles as you struggle under the weight. The pain that can only be diluted by a yoga session and a trip to the hot springs. Sun salutations in a lush, meadow valley. Warrior one and reverse warrior in the heat of the sun, relaxing from the miles we traveled just the day before.…

There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…

Throughout my life, I have faced a number of crucibles but one, in particular, is more prominent than the rest. About five years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, a traumatic experience that affected my entire family. Each member of my immediate family chose to deal with the news in different ways, however, I am the only one that elected to live in denial. Sadly, the only way I knew how to cope with such devastating news was to continue living my life as if nothing was happening. Denial is simply unsustainable as you cannot escape the memories that the crucible has formed. Nevertheless, years after my mom was originally diagnosed I began to appreciate the experience for what it was rather than shy away from it; developing hardiness.…

“The trouble is you think you have time” (Buddha). Time is something we take for granted; we always say witty quotes thinking it will prepare us for when time runs out although nothing can prepare us for sudden death. For as long as I can remember I had been around pure genuine love, one couples love story had a great impact on me. My oldest cousin Dustin fell in love at the young age of seven years old, he fell for a beautiful soul named Lindsey. I admired her personality and after years went on I became very close to Lindsey; we were like sisters. On July 18, 2012, my families lives changed forever and so did mine, Lindsey’s father Ricky murdered Lindsey and her mother Darlene. I still remember the day as If it is replaying in the back of my head. There’s often moments where certain smells or sights take me back to this day, it is a hard one to forget.…

If you've made it to this post, you are probably ready for some solutions. The internet is brimming with advice on what to do and not do. I know when my daughter was first diagnosed with ADHD, I was completely overwhelmed. Here I was with this diagnosis but no one bothered to give me an instruction manual. All I was told is that she would do better if I medicated her and sent on my way. I wasn't given a list of things to try, people to contact for advice, or even much moral support. It was all up to me to figure it out. That's a scary place to be. I think that is one reason why I have been so open to helping others over the years with this struggle. Sometimes it's just nice to hear, "I've been there and here are a few things to try."…
