Many people may think that soccer is just a sport, but to me it means much more. I believe in the feeling I get when I dribble down the pitch, juke out a defender, and score the winning goal. It is such a rush to race down the pitch and send an amazing through pass to your teammate who scores the goal. Soccer has taught me many life lessons such as to always try your best, exercise is important, and to be respectful to everyone you play with or against.
I remember when I was in third grade, I had just moved to a new community, and I was extremely nervous about making new friends. She said “How about we go play on the monkey bars”. “Sure” I said.
When we walked over there, there was another girl waiting for us. I was a bit scared because I thought it was just going to be the two of us. She introduced me to the other girl and we started to play. It turned out that I could hold on the monkey bars longer than the two of them. Ever since then we have all been best friends. That by far was the best day of my life and that was all due to soccer. Now when I play soccer I put the life lessons soccer has taught me into my play. I try my hardest, I run till I can run no more, and I am respectful to my teammates and to my opponents. I never mock someone when they miss the pass that would have scored the winning goal, instead I say “ Good try, or It's ok you'll get it next time.”
So, if you ever have the option to play soccer or any other sport out there I very sincerely hope that you will chose soccer because soccer can teach you many life lessons and, in my case, soccer can help you find your very best friends. I believe in the magic of
