Personal Narrative: My Tutor

During my sophomore year, a senior came to me at Tutoring Society to get tutored in math. She would come to me almost every day. And just like many others I tutor, I started to get to know her better. She came from an underprivileged background and worked an evening shift at our local food store to support her family. However, this had not deterred her from participating on the cheerleading team. One day, she had to leave five minutes early to cheer at an away game. A few weeks later, she rushed out the main doors after the tutoring session to take over her friend’s shift at work. Despite her part time job and cheerleading practices, she still worked hard to pass high school and her least favorite class: math.
