Personal Narrative: My Community Placement Proposal
For my first placement I was placed at Kaylra aged care facility in McLaren Vale. This facility is a modern 39-bed with both high and low care support. Being situated in McLaren Vale, I knew before my placement the makeup of the population consisted of various difference ages, races, genders and religion. Once I began my placement I discovered that the average age of people living in McLaren Vale is 47 years old, and elderly couples 15.4% of people living in McLaren Vale. It was evident that Kaylra has a targeted population of elderly people. My community placement addressed the needs of those older in the population and needed assistance to be able to care for themselves.
