I was only 13 when the show first aired me and my sister Kaniya would watch the show and say that’s what we’re going to do when we got older. Instead of waiting to get older I started a little earlier than the average person would to start couponing. Apparel, automotive, baby things, books. Food, healthcare, household and so on. I started printing out more coupons for many different things and using them even for the movies. I have all these apps on my phone like coupons, offers, groupons and other different apps. What I also do to save on my clothes is sign up online for deals and they’re always sending emails like save 15% off entire purchase. This is what gets me excited to hand over them coupons and watch the number slowly go down to what it was before and see how much was saved. This is something I consider myself an expert at I may not be an expert in a subject such as science or math but this is an activity. I am a coupon person. I love coupon via mobile and with limited information. I just brought a piece of furniture that normally cost $3800 and I got this furniture for $1200 from JCPenny’s. I don’t really look for coupons unless I am going to that store. I must admit that I love on particular fast food chain named, Chick-Fil-A. I actually look for those coupons. I have received free minis, and other free things from Chick-Fil-A. At the same time, I carry Michael Kors products, which represent a particular status. I have a $400 dollar purse that I only paid $100. I even have a Michael Kors cell case, but no-one can tell it is a Michal Kors, but it make me feel a certain way. Another example of an extreme consumer is the shopper who radically values savings, specifically those achieved through the use of couponing. You may have heard about them from the television, or even waited in line behind one at the grocery store. These are people who go to extremes to save money by spending copious amounts of time clipping coupons from paper media advertisements. Often manufacturers will promote their goods by offering a limited discount if you redeem one of the coupons they have distributed through their marketing channels. It has even become something of a fad with television shows such as “Extreme Couponing,” which highlights some of these super-savvy consumers.…

Many of people have been familiarized with Extreme couponing because of TLC’s hit show “Extreme Couponing” that first aired in 2010 but TLC gives a very one sided view about Extreme Couponing. Many people don’t hear about the problems it causes for companies, or the crimes it drives people to commit just to save an extra dollar. We’re not talking about the average grandma cutting a couple coupons from the Sunday newspaper, were talking about people having binders full of coupons and utilizing coupon-clipping services. Extreme…

I remember anxiously waiting for 9:00 o’clock so we could go explore the store. The grocery store could be kind of spooky during the night but this didn’t bother us too much because we would be busy playing tag or hide and seek throughout the store. The grocery store has seven aisles. Aisles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are nothing special but aisle 6 is divided into in half by a variety of items as well as a candy box ( I don’t know what else to call it).…

One day, when running out, I realized I’d have to buy shower supplies myself for the first time. I decided to drive down to Walgreens in order to purchase what I needed. I checked my bank account balance via my iPhone, and realized I only have fifty dollars to spend. At that moment I understood I would have to limit my spending. As I walked through the aisles I kept my eyes on prices, keeping in mind my decision for a limited budget. I bought and paid for what I needed, but despite trying to save money, I spent thirty dollars.…

Just like other teenagers and even adults I tend to spend a lot of time with friends either going to the movies, shopping, or even small things like eating out. This was the most difficult for me because my friends would ask if we could grab a burger from Mooyah or Sonic slush. I typically reply with an immediate "sure why not" but realizing I wanted to stay away from spending money we went to the park and walked around instead of opening our wallets. Throughout the day I realized I wasn't able to purchase any freshly fried junk food or rent La La Land, giving up these guilty favorites of mine I discovered a lot of my typical days. I feel consumerism and consumption add unneeded stress, hurt my health, as well as destroy simplicity in life, just sleeping over at your best friend's house and talking to them until sunrise is no longer enough for people.…

Shopping is my top favorite interest. I asked a girlfriend to give me her opinion on what she thought my greatest interest was and she said it’s definitely shopping. Her tone made it sound like I shouldn’t even ask such a silly question! Well, I had no idea it was so noticeable to others, but since I am known to give her my hand-me-downs every time I indulge, it’s probably more prevalent to her than to anyone else who knows me well. I spend many lunch breaks and Saturday afternoons on the hunt for a cash-savings, clearance rack purchase. I will dig at any Ross, TJ Maxx or Marshall’s for the best, brand name deals. Of course, I’m not just thinking of myself when I actively take over the shoe or clothing department. I keep my kids, friends and friend’s kids in mind if the size and price are right!…
