Personal Narrative Essay On Princess Leia
“We all have doubts about ourselves, sometimes. It’s part of what makes us examine ourselves and all that we do. And without that we become nothing short of monsters.” Princess Leia from the star wars franchise has been a very inspirational role model for me from a young age. Sure it might sound a little nerdy but it has great meaning to me. In my life when I was 11 years old my parents got in a divorce so finishing up 4th grade I moved to a completely different school in Kimberly, Idaho. We spent two years at that school and I found out that I really enjoyed art and then we moved to rigby to live with my uncle for the summer. Luckily we moved back so I got a little more time with those friends and their art program, but in the middle of that year my great grandma was dying so we moved again to my grandparent’s house to help them with my great grandma. It was very hard to move to a new school in the middle of the year so I didn’t make any friends for a while. Eventually I did make …show more content…

"We admire people to the extent that we cannot explain what they do, and the word admire then means marvel at." This quote by B. F. Skinner shows exactly how I idolize certain people. I admire those who can make me realize who I am, who understand where I stand on and who is not afraid to say what is on their minds. One incredible individual, who I have met recently, changed the way I looked at the world. Ms. Lena Parks has a different air around her that I do not find most in others. I applaud her for the discipline she imposed on herself to reach her goal, for her sense of humor, and for her individuality.…

Well the question I get all the time is, did you ever expect it to be so successful? I did think it would be successful because it was a fantasy that had a sense of humor. I thought it was hilarious. It's amazing how warm people are. I'm always taken a back because they make you feel like you’re part of the family. Now that stories, you know I met my wife online for Empire Strikes Back or whatever like you named my daughter Leia or you know everyone has a personal story. A line I said in the first one that now has been in all of them, I don't know about Rogue one I've only seen that once I have a very bad feeling about this or I have a bad feeling about this. That's another thing, people have seen these things more than I have so they correct…

My heart is pounding in my chest as I am in complete awe as I realize that finally she is coming. It is one of the most thrilling events that has ever happened to me in my entire life. I don’t think one can ever be completely ready for what I was about to endure as well as the pain my body was about to be put through. The pain begins to become more alarming as stronger waves of torment flows throughout my body down to the deepest core of my being. I have to say no matter how many books or classes I have taken, nothing could prepare me for what was about to happen next. It is not something that one could ever be mentally qualified for until it is actually happening. Fourteen hours of agonizing discomfort and yet we are still waiting for her to enter into this nonsensical, yet wonderful world. “Aren’t you a little short for a storm trooper?” (Lucas New Hope 40). Rings a bell, doesn't it? This is one of the many quotes and a memorable one from Princess Leia in George Lucas’s saga Star Wars. Lucas had created an all American myth and was the first to do it. His movie saga used every archetype known to man and was inspired by the book The Hero with a Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell. Campbell’s book also had every archetype known to man in it. It affected an innumerable amount of people around the world. Lucas’s Star Wars saga even went further than the big screen by inspiring comics, video games, toys, and other merchandise making Lucas a billionaire. His first three movies he made in the saga are New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of The Jedi. In this Star Wars trilogy, George Lucas illustrates that the hero must be wounded either physically or emotionally to be open to spiritual knowledge and transformation. Leia’s wounds open her to love, Luke’s wounds open him to becoming a Jedi Knight, and Anakin Skywalker’s wounds open him to redemption. These transformations are marked by physical and emotional wounds.…

She’s clever, hilarious, generous, kind, loving, intelligent, and has a strong moral compass. When I look at her, I see hope. Ultimately I see hope for me. While I often contemplate with envy the image of perfection I see in her, I have come to realize that her success story could be mine as well. She gives me an ideal to strive for. Unlike some role models, she is real, I know her well, and we have a shared history. I see her human flaws along with her perfection. In this way her level of success is not some unattainable ideal, but something that I know I have the ability to reach. Her success motivates me to work through my own issues in a way that other people’s success cannot.…

Ever since I was young, people have always asked “Who is your role model?” Historically, leaders such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr., or John Lennon have been and still are major inspirations. On the other hand, my role model is someone similar in age who, unlike most celebrities today, wasn’t afraid to admit that she was human and needed help. Not only did she seek help, she openly shared her experiences and has encouraged other teens facing the same problems seek help also.…

What is a hero? Is someone famous, someone that we love, a family member or a peer, or just someone who saved our life? The word “hero” has a special meaning for me: a hero is a person who influenced me through his behaviors, actions, and helps; one who did something to change my point of view in a good way; somebody who would remain in my heart no matter how hard life is going on. My hero is neither Batman nor Super-man. He is the guy who changed my entire prospective about life ——my best friend Gianni (Jack).…
