I wanted to play because when my dad took me to a soccer game at the Philadelphia Union Stadium I saw a famous soccer player named Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, he signed my shirt and told me “Tu vas aser un gran futbolista.” which means “You’re going to be a great soccer player.”, and that’s what inspired me to play soccer. I joined my first soccer team because when I first saw my uncle play it made me want to play, my dad took me to play soccer at a soccer field and I loved it, and also because Javier “Chicharito” …show more content…

I always felt like my uncle like my uncle was the best soccer player out of the whole team. One day afternoon my uncle told me that their soccer team made it to the playoffs. I was so excited and I was ready to go to the soccer game. I got to the soccer game and all the benches were full, there was no more seats to sit on, so I sat on the grass. After a long 90 minute game my uncle’s team had won in first place, but before the game started my uncle was in despair moment about winning the game because the other team was challenging, but I made him feel better by giving him solace. One other reason why I decided to play soccer was because my dad took me to a soccer field, so I can start knowing the process on what is like playing a real soccer game. When I first started playing I wouldn’t know how to kick a soccer ball. So, my dad kept teaching me and teaching me, after 1 hour of training, I would finally kick a ball right. When I was ten years old I tried out for my local travel soccer team. I did not expect to make it, but by some stroke of luck I did. I started playing and it was not what I was expecting. In the past I averaged a hat trick every game, but travel soccer was a lot different. I started playing defense, but that might be an overstatement, because I did not get a whole lot of minutes. I knew that if I wanted to play more I was going to have to put in more work outside of practice. I started practicing everyday switching from running, to foot skills, to agility training. I probably spent more time complaining about it and there were a few time that my parents had to push me to practice, but I knew that I had to put in the work.…

My life has revolved around soccer since I was four years old. My whole family was born into the sport and I’m so thankful that I have the support from my family and friends to continue to follow my dream in playing college soccer. I believe my life would not be the same without participating in the sport I love and playing with the people I grew up with. I wouldn’t have met half the people I know now. All my teammate’s families that treat me like their family would have been just imaginary. I wouldn’t have a second family to fall back on when I need. Soccer had made me for who I am. The reason I’m so competed and driven is because of the game. Soccer has helped me become a responsible hardworking young adult that doesn’t like to fail. My never-quit…

I remember when I was five, I would always attend my step sister’s soccer games during the weekend while at my dad’s. I would always love to watch but I was more of a hands on person. I have always wanted to play soccer but unfortunately it was harder to do for a kid, like me, when I had divorced parents that lived 40 minutes away from each other. It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

I felt this sense of fear, but I knew it was just nervousness. It caused my whole body to tremble. I creeped onto the field and pass by the fifty girls and all of the coaches. Just me walking by everyone gave me this ginormous knot in my stomach, it made me feel like I was going to pass out right on the field. I was breathing heavy, like I just ran a marathon. I was beyond nervous just to be the new girl on the field. I was scared of what the girls thought of me, and how the coaches thought I would play and adapt to the sport. I had never even picked up a lacrosse stick and the girls were passing, catching and shooting on goal: how does a new player get to there if they were two week late into the season? I was terrified I would never get to the level of the rest of the team.…
