Personal Narrative: Crisis Management
If I was in charge of a similar event I would definitely handle the situation differently. My first order of business would be to set up my teams. My teams would then get a set of instruction to read over. If they were able to try to improve and make suggestions on my initial plan, I would definitely consider their suggestions. A team is only as strong as its weakest link. While the right team is critical to crisis management, simply assembling a great team is not enough (Finch, 2017). As a leader, you have to really think outside the box. One must consider the craziest thing imaginable happening when they make their plans. The chances might be slim of an incident happen, but that one time could be the time you were responsible. I would also

Learning from mistakes is a key part of life. I myself have had to learn from my mistakes. Over the summer I cut my foot outside. I spent the whole night in the worst hospital, then I got 18 stitches in the bottom of my foot. It also set back my ability to play football. My mistake was going outside without shoes, now I wear my shoes all the time.…

First, I would plan for the worst case scenario. My team of executives would be drilled to test the system, find the limitations, and then assign a team to deal with them. It is too late when the event is happening to plan for the scenario. I think as follow-up to the crisis, the plans were executed very well. I also would not plan to take a flight out on the runway when the weather is so bad. I would do almost anything to prevent them from being stranded on the tarmac. It is my opinion that I would make drastic IT changes, starting…

“I can’t wait to be a senior” was something I would say whenever I walked into my anatomy class full of seniors who did nothing at all but every time I would Jesslyn would stop me, cock her eyebrow, make a ‘you are kidding me right?’ face and say “be careful what you wish for” and I’m now understanding what she meant. Learning responsibility, independence, and how to deal with stress is the most difficult for me coming into senior year.…

I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

In any instance where a person needs some level of counseling support, there are an array of ethical issues and possible ramifications. Kanel (2011) suggests that the field of crisis management is unique because there are times when “nonprofessionals” assume the role of crisis manager. Furthermore, there has been great debate as to the level of education a person should have to qualify as a person that has the needed knowledge to support a person, group, or family through such an intervention. The author sets forth an interesting notion in that self-awareness on the part of the counselor is critical because either the professional, paraprofessional, or non-professional has to enter the support arena with an unbiased stance (p. 32). Self-awareness…

In chapter 12, the key event to me was when Claudia and Finn talked to each other through the keys. I felt many emotions when reading their interaction one of them being happy. I felt happy when they talked to each other because it was a turning point in the story in my opinion. I also felt surprised because at first, I thought by having two keys, there would be a lock that would need both keys to hear and speak to each other. I also felt confused by the way they conversed; How could they now hear each other but not before. I think by having one key being touched, the other key can hear because on page 153 Claudia says she breathed and rubbed on the key making it warm and on page 154 Finn says when he touches the key it's warm.I like the way the author wrote the scene from both perspectives, it gave us the readers a clearer understanding of how both Finn and Claudia felt. I also like how the author described the way both keys affect each other and have a "key" connection.…

I had an initial appointment scheduled at the library and while I was in route to the library the client had sent me a text message stating that she had arrived at the library approximately 20 minutes early and was there waiting on me. I had responded to the client that I was approximately 5 minutes away and would be there as soon as I could be. I had arrived at the library and while I was walking into the library a client that I am familiar with arrived in her vehicle and verbally greeted me stating that she was picking up her children for an unsupervised visitation. Make good decisions. Do the right thing, no matter who is watching. Those words have been repeated and instilled in my mind since I was a young child. My parents always harped on doing the right thing, and making good choices, because some decisions made at an early age can follow you into adulthood. Unfortunately, sometimes making a wrong decision only helps you to learn from the mistake. When I was 15 years old, my friend *Alyssa Brown (Pseudonym) was raped. She was my best friend and someone I care deeply about. We played volleyball together on the same team, had breakfast at the diner every Sunday, and watched movies in my basement every weekend. Like any relationship, we had our differences. At that age, many of my friends were maturing at dissimilar rates, and it was confusing to me some of the changes that were happening to their attitudes and opinions. Alyssa had an older sister *Lindsey, who was 19 at the time, and who wasn’t particularly the best behaved; she had been arrested a few times and needless to say didn’t surround herself with the best company. Alyssa couldn’t help who her sister brought around the house, and neither could I—although now I wish I could have.…

It was Easter and my siblings and I were looking for Easter eggs around the backyard. Once we were finished we wanted to jump on the trampoline, just for fun. My brother decided he was thirsty and wanted to get a drink. My sister and I said be careful it's slippery so use the back door. While we are still playing around on the trampoline. My mom yells my sister and I's name. Come inside, come inside, so we thought we were in trouble. So, we run inside and we see my brother's face and it was (descriptive word). We had to go straight to the emergency room. We rushed straight into the car and my mom was driving as fast as she could. All my brother kept saying was his arm hurt.…
