It was a cold and chilly afternoon on July 17, 2015, when twelve year old Jared Guese encountered a black bear and its two cubs. Leading up to this event, his parents had planned a trip to Sequoia National Park during summer break. Mainly so they could do something besides sit around in their house all day. Jared was not that excited to be going, but he smiled and gave a sarcastic, “Sounds fun!” The car trip there was around four hours long and was very tedious. Once the family arrived at the campsite, they unpacked all of their belongings and set up a large tent.…

As you sit in the stand to wait on such a magnificent creature you begin to wonder why it is so prized. The white-tailed deer is nothing out of the ordinary, with its common colors such as: khaki-tan fur such as that of dress pants, the antlers that seem to stand out like tree branches, and the white beard that can stretch from the jaw down to his chest. You sit all day and hear nothing. You contemplate whether you should pack your things and leave every second, but you decide to stay. It almost seems as though the white-tailed deer is a ghost in the day. You can sometimes hear them travel through the woods but never be seen or never hear…

Family is symbolized by a heart due to the amount of love I have for my relatives. Faith is symbolized by a cross, because the cross represents Christianity. Life is symbolized by a globe, because the amount of life on earth is innumerable. My family crest overall is kid themed, as portrayed by the vast variety of colors.
