Personal Mission Statement
As I look back on the last two months of this course, the two Benedictine Hallmarks that jump out at me the most are discipline and obedience. At this point in my life, I am a full time student and working part time at Edward Hospital in Naperville. I am doing nothing but growing and learning every day of the week. Because of this, discipline and obedience are so necessary in my everyday schedule. I am not only trying to better myself and learn as much as I possibly can but I am also trying to make connections with people in the attempt to maximize my total development as an individual. You can learn so much from the people that you encounter everyday whether it be big impressions or small. I want to focus solely on my school work in order …show more content…
My first step would be to graduate with my Bachelors in Radiation Therapy. In doing so, I will be working in the Cancer Center at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The drive and determination that I have to complete this goal is what is the most important about my identity today. The love that I have for other people and their health is undeniable and I want nothing but to share my heart and passion with the world and people in need.
The desire that I have to help others is also important because it helps me realize that there are many people in the world struggling and not just in a hospital. It makes me want to travel to other countries and do as much as I possibly can to impact their lives in a positive way. I have been given an opportunity to travel to Haiti to help build and create water pumps just so the community has fresh water to drink. That experience in itself is me giving back to the world, to their community. Something that means so much to them, such as water, and me having the necessary skills and tools to give them that is an incredible feeling. I cannot help but want to connect with people that feel the need to help others as much as I do. Hopefully one day everyone will want to be involved in some type of volunteer work to better this world one country at a

After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

My professional goal is to become a teacher with hard work and dedication I know I can reach my lifetime goal. For my extra-curricular activities, I have attended the Head Start at Brookhaven Community College where I have volunteered over thirty hours in a semester to get myself prepared for the profession. Going to the local Head Start gave me the opportunity to see if this is really what I want to do for many years. I put myself in a position where I actually enjoyed what I was doing, I had patience which a lot of people don’t have to teach younger kids. I worked with three to five years old, I had to show them I was the leader. In my four years of High School, I have taken my time out to be a leader in my school. I was vice-president freshman…

I have many goals in my life that I wanted to fulfill; one of those goals is to have economic security. During these past 18 months that our country was submerged in recession, it pressed me to reflect on how important it is to have economic security. During that period of time, I was reflecting about which would be the best plan of action that can help me to reach my goals. I came to the conclusion that the only good plan was to go back to the University and to obtain a degree. I currently work in a company as a general manager, but that does not give me the security that I need to project my future. And this was the main reason, why I decide to enroll in DeVry University. Now that I’m an active student, I feel that I am constructing a bright future and that my goals are going to become a reality once I graduate. After graduation, my plan is to work for the government for few years, after that period of time; I’m planning to develop my own company that would be dedicated to accounting services for individuals, companies, and to offer financial advice.…

I see myself progressing in my field as well as in my education. I find my education challenging and motivating. I can see many challenges ahead and therefore I am willing to invest my time learning all the skills and knowledge of my field towards professional advancement. I hoped to be offered in a management role in 5 years, looking to move on to greater things. I'm prepared to learned new things and contribute to the overall success of the organization in a number of ways. The only specific ''plan of willingness'' is that the opportunity be within my ability to learn, interesting enough for me to dig and do a good job, and the compensation increase a reasonable amount in relation to the demands of the position.…
