Own performance of current management skills
Time management is the act or process of exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase efficiency or productivity. Fewer managers mean more responsibility for those in the business. In addition, time management is essential to avoid stress and to get everything done. 2.
Prioritization is an integral of time management. In marketing, managers may have to priorities markets or customers and need to understand the process and criteria by which priorities can be established. Prioritization is the essential skill you need to make the very best use of your own efforts and those of your team. It's also a skill that you need to create calmness and space in your life so that you can focus your energy and attention on the things that really matter. 3.
Delegation is essential in ensuring that tactical details of activities are attended to; to give younger managers and staff experience and chance to develop their skills; to act as a motivator. In addition, delegation is described as the assignment of authority and responsibility to another person to carry out specific activities. However the person who delegated the work remains accountable for the outcome of the delegated work. Delegation empowers a subordinate to make decisions.
A majority of business problems can be traced back to poor communication and in today’s global environment these problems are multiplying. The essence of the manager’s job is communicating, both sending messages and listening to them. It must be done professionally both inside and outside the organization. 5.
Negotiation is usually considered as a compromise to settle an argument or issue to benefit ourselves as much as possible.Negotiation with clients and staff is a key aspect of bringing buyer and seller, employees and the organization together in a way which satisfies everyone's need. However, negotiation is something that we do all the time and is not only used for business purposes. 6.
Leadership, a critical management skill, is the ability to motivate a group of people toward a common goal. These items will help us develop skills as a leader. The business manager is often a figurehead and must share the organization’s vision in order to communicate it effectively to others.Managers are in the business of leading the business down the path of customer orientation. 7.
Management roles can be very isolated and motivation has to be clear and effective to get the best out of those working at the customer interface. Here is some quick self-motivation: look back, take some time out and plan again. 8.
Management is about coordination. Satisfying customers has to be a team effort. Managers have to be able to build teams even when they have no line authority. Teambuilding is an important factor in any environment, its focus is to specialize in bringing out the best in a team to ensure self-development, positive communication, leadership skills and the ability to work closely together as a team to problem solve. 2.2
Everyone has different strengths. To me, control emotion easily is my greatest strength. Sometime, cannot control emotion make someone mistake. When do business, we cannot let personal feeling on the job. Example: when serving customers we need happy and friendly although we are angry, if not we will lose customers. Greatest talent
