Post colonialism is the study of the legacy of the era of the European, and sometimes American, direct global domination, which ended roughly in the mid- 20th century and the residual political socio- economic, and psychological effects of that colonial history. Post colonialism examines the manner in which emerging societies grapple with the challenges of self determination and how they incorporate or reject the western norms of conventions, such as legal or political system, left in place after direct colonial powers have ended. During colonisation our people fought for freedom, stating that white man’s rule was not favourable, that it was evil and he was a racist and he discriminates... etc. The black man then fought for his freedom from colonisation and promised his people of a more favourable leadership. After much deliberation and freedom fight, power was handed over and that was the end of colonisation which brought about ‘post – colonialism’. Power was handed down to the African man, only for him to perpetuate greater evil than that of the colonial masters. The rich keeps getting richer and the poor, poorer. Morontodun is an evident example of the post colonial disaster happening presently in the society.
