Perfect Mate Compare and Contrast Essay

Have you ever taken a moment to think of the most important traits that you would like to see if your future husband or wife? My traits were quite different the traits my parents had mentioned. When I took a guess at what my parents might say they were somewhat similar. In the end, I realized that it is very important for you to not only listen to what you say, but also to take the encouragement and feedback that your parents present to you.
Your opinion on how you want your future to be playing a big role in the outcome of your life. No guy is going to be perfect or do no wrong. Therefore, you have to put that to the side and realize the traits that would make him the perfect guy in your eyes or for you. The perfect husband for me would need to be respectful. This means he would not only have to be respectful to me, but to my family and others. He would have to have faith and be confident in himself and in God. Also, he would need to be caring and an athletic guy who likes to have a good time. These are the most important traits that my future husband would have to offer. I want to be able to live the life I want with good influences helping me through it. This will then benefit the life of the children I plan to have.

I stated that for my dad the perfect guy for me would have to be nice, caring, respectful, outgoing, and to have faith. With what I had said we were a little bit similar. For my mom I said that she would want to see in him was respect, care, humor, faith, and he would have to be outgoing. This was almost identical to what my mom had said. My guess for my mom was closer than my dad because I spend more time with her and I know her a little bit better. Although my guess was not all correct, my parents would want to also know my ideas and take them into thought and consideration as

The book Real Relationships, provides readers with many beneficial practices of Smart Love. The practice that stood out the most to me is that Smart Love does not try to change others. While it is clear in the teachings of the Bible that people can indeed change, we should never expect that someone will change because we want them to. I have seen many friends who are willing to put up with the unsavory habits or the opposing views of their partner in a dating relationship on the basis that they can change their partner. One of my closest friends is dating a man who is unwise with his money, has already accumulated a great deal of debt, and frequently borrows money from my friend. When asked about how her boyfriend’s spending habits will affect…

The ideal parent will always put their children’s needs and wants before their own. They will not argue or become violent in front of their children. Parents should not go crazy on their child or over step boundaries. Arranged marriages like in “Why My Mother Wanted Me Dead” will only create an unhappy, and possibly unhealthy rebellious child and future adult. The ideal partner for my daughter Lana should have more good traits, rather than bad. Personality, good morals, relationship between words and actions should collaborate. Lana’s future boyfriend should not just want sex from her. I expect that Lana’s future partner is all of what I mentioned, and that he is capable of talking things out with her instead of becoming violent. I do not want…

Their choice to marry one another was a collective choice and also a third party which was the pastor at our church. Although it was a collective choice my mother still had a little doubt before they got married because my father had low self-esteem, signs of not being responsible and signs of being a cheater, which in the long run proved to be truthful. In addition to all of that, my mother was told by our pastor to move the wedding date up and he insured my mom that marrying my dad would be a perfect match for my mom so our pastor thought. As the years rode by my father’s hidden agendas came to the forefront. However with all that being said love did play a role in the marriage because my father had a good job, he fit my mother standard of physical appearance, and she felt that he deeply cared for her. As stated in the reading by Pasupathi that “it may seem obvious that different cultures will consider different criteria in mate selection” for example it says in India the criteria for marriage partners are multidimensional and includes: religion/horoscope matching, character, education, dowry, appearance, employment, caste/subcaste, geographic distance between families, financial status and lastly family status, tradition and reputation. When I asked my mother what criteria did her and my father base there alliance on she said it was her becoming pregnant, sex, how they made each other feel and the looks. They only had one criterion in common with India criteria, which was appearance. I honestly thought that my mother would have told me more characteristics that they based their alliance on but my mother said…

Activity-related affects are individual’s feelings towards the desired activity. “Activity- related affect consist of three components: emotional arousal to the act itself (act related), the self-acting (self-related), and the environment in which the action takes place (context related)” (Pender et al., 2014, p. 37). If the individual enjoys the activity, they will continue it. However, if the activity is not enjoyed, the individual will most likely avoid it. If sexual orientation is something that we can’t change or choose, then how are these specific preferences such as heterosexuality and homosexuality created? How does one person progress to either heterosexuality or homosexuality? Studies showed that there were genetic factors linked to influencing sexual orientation in males before they were born by increasing the female reproductive capacity in mothers during multiple births. (Iemmole, Ciani, 2008: 393) Though that doesn’t mean that there technically is a “gay gene” that has been discovered, just that several human genome studies has suggested promising areas of research that are pointing to that direction. (Iemmole, Ciani, 2008: 393) With more studies and information, it seems that sexual orientation is primarily established more by a biological factor than any environmental factors.…
