Patriots Day Film Analysis
The movie Patriots Day is a 2016 American drama-thriller film based on the book Boston Strong. After analyzing the promotion for the film, I found many ways the film is sold to the audience. One way is by the “bankable stars” in the movie. Actors and producers such as; Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, Jk Simmons, and Michelle Monaghan, all star in the movie. Having a bankable star in a film allows for easier promotion, because when seeing an actor you know in a trailer you're more likely to want to see the movie. Patriots day uses this to their advantage by putting those big names in their trailer to get the extra attention. Also, the movie being based on a true story is a way they are selling the story which is also emphasized in the trailer.

After a short and brief anchor introduction WGN’s, Erik Runge, tells his story on the upcoming bad allergy season through a donut live shot. In his introduction live shot, Runge stumbles a bit, but then quickly recovers from it by restating the word and pretending like it never happened. Runge’s b-roll video that was shot in the same perimeter just through different angles around the same lake area in Lincoln Park was lacking and did not compliment the story well at all. Some close up b-roll on growing plants was more effective than the other videos because it represented pollen, a main cause of allergies. Runge also only followed around one allergy victim who did not have many powerful things to say beyond the obvious negative comments on…

Getting the inventory data to key employees is crucial if CanGo wishes to run an efficient operation. Lack of inventory data, as well as a lack in other important information is one of CanGo’s most significant issues. Inventory data has to span three or four systems within CanGo, not just on the shop floor. The company has to take the appropriate steps to tie back inventory data to all of their sources. A recommended option for CanGo is to go paperless. The easiest way to create inventory management problems is to continue to use paper. Using paperwork to manage inventory is almost a guarantee to slow things, while creating inaccuracy and confusion. What order pickers need is real-time data," "Without automating data collection there will be piles of paper waiting to be keyed in, along with all of its negative repercussions." www.peaktech.com.…

In this analysis paper, I will be looking at the animated film “The Cameraman’s Revenge” by Ladislaw Starewicz. While the majority of animators during and before his time worked on two dimensional animated films, Starewicz stepped off the beaten path and instead chose to implement his taxidermied insects in his animations; that alone made this film unique and fascinating for me to watch. Watching the film was a surreal experience with my knowledge of how innovative this form of animation was for its time, as well as how real it surely looked to audiences back then.…

The movie, American Sniper, has definitely been one of the most anticipated and controversial films of 2014. The movie is directed by Clint Eastwood, and stars Bradley Cooper. This movie tells the unique and complicated story of former navy seal, Chris Kyle. Chris Kyle is mostly known as the most lethal sniper in U.S military history. Chris had 160 confirmed kills in total of all of his tours of duty. Unfortunately, Chris Kyle was killed at a gun range by a former marine who had a history of mental illness. Chris Kyle released a book called “American Sniper,” which later developed into a film. The movie was made in memory of him and to tell his story. This movie is a very touching war film. The care and passion that was put into this movie is clearly shown through the acting, cinematography, realistic war scenes, and dedication from the actors. This movie not only speaks to those who loved Chris Kyle, but also to those who have family members serving or have served in the U.S. Military. Clint Eastwood makes sure that those who served are properly respected and honored for their service. This is why the movie is a great film…

The Conspirator is a movie made in 2010 directed by Robert Redford. The whole point of making this movie was to bring history to life. As a diehard Patriots fan, this article was a tough read for me, as it is basically attacking the integrity of the organization. The author’s primary intentions are to prove that the Patriots have a tendency of cheating and show that Commissioner Roger Goodell has been inconsistent with his discipline towards the Patriots. The article starts off with an overview of spygate to set the precedent for deflategate: that cheating would not be tolerated.…

Varsity Blues is such an outstanding movie played by some magnificent actors such as Paul Walker, James Van Der Beek, Ali Larter, Amy Smart, and plenty other amazing actors. This spectacular movie it takes place in 1999 in a small town high school football team where their coach only cares about reaching his 23rd district championship title. As players for this football team, they went through hell and back dealing with the pressure from the community and their overbearing coach constantly giving them a very difficult time throughout the entire season. more about the public image that they worried about. To make profit, the people being put on display have to look attractive enough to guarantee their movie sells. At 13 years old, however, Judy signed over to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as one of their few child stars and they didn’t know what to do with her. In fact, MGM was in a similar predicament with another child star around Judy’s age, Deanna Durbin, who had an exceptional voice, albeit more operatic. The studio even filmed the two girls in the musical short titled Every Sunday in 1936 as a “screen test” to help decide which one of the girls they wanted to keep by comparing their voices side by side to an audience (Clarke, 73). According to Judy in a Jack Parr interview, they were…

Fight Club “Its only after we’ve lost everything are we free to do anything”, Tyler Durden as (Brad Pitt) states, among many other lines of contemplation. In Fight Club, a nameless narrator, a typical “everyman,” played as (Edward Norton) is trapped in the world of large corporations, condominium living, and all the money he needs to spend on all the useless stuff he doesn’t need. As Tyler Durden says “The things you own end up owning you.” Fight Club is an edgy film that takes on such topics as consumerism, the feminization of society, manipulation, cultism, Marxist ideology, social norms, dominant culture, and the psychiatric approach of the human id, ego, and super ego. “It is a film that surrealistically describes the status of the American…
