Passing In Soccer
Soccer is a complex sport that is unique because it focuses on the feet and it uses special skill. There are many skills that are need to play this sport like passing, receiving a pass, dribbling, and shooting. Each position on the soccer field targets different skills, but all of them have fundamental skills. The goalkeeper on the other hand has different skill sets because they don’t focus their feet, but instead their hands. When playing soccer, a player must be able to build on these skills in order to become a better player (Callaway). Passing is one of the most fundamental skills in soccer because with passing players move the ball from one area to another. There are five types of passing which are push, long, backward, piercing, and wall pass. All of these are important for an advanced player, but the most basic ones are push and long passes. Push passes are also referred to as direct passes, which is a pass to the player's teammate close by. Long pass is used to get the ball from one side of the field to the other (Howard). All you have to do for a push pass is to turn your hip outward, lift your leg to the side forming a 90 degree angle, and then swing through with the inside of your foot. Make sure the standing foot is targeted at the target to ensure better accuracy. …show more content…
There are four ways to receiving a ball, which are using the head, feet, chest, and thigh. Younger and not so skilled soccer players use their feet as a way as receiving the ball. It’s also the easiest to control (Jake). In order to receive the pass, you must stand with your body sideways, keep your shoulders facing the defender and keeping your dominant foot facing the ball. Check whether there is a defender behind you, so you have a feel for where to pass next and what to do. Receive the ball with the outside of your foot

The soccer goalkeeper is one of the most forgotten and unappreciated positions in the sport. The majority of people are afraid to play it or watch their kids play it; the few who do decide it is their spot, are marked off and placed in the goal. With youth players, it is usually the one or two kids that do not completely hate goal that end up being put there. This lack of interest and focus on the position is why creating an opportunity that solely focuses on the goalkeeper is needed among youth soccer clubs. These opportunities will give many young players a chance to get a full grasp on their feelings for the position, may it be love or hate. Clinics also provide an easy way…

The correct way to kick a soccer ball as far as possible is to keep your preferred foot’s ankle locked, get your thigh back and land on your kicking foot and your other foot last, do not land on your opposite foot. Last but not least, you must kick with the laces of your shoes and not your toes. It helps a lot to wear soccer cleats because they are first of all obviously made for soccer but are designed to help you kick the ball correctly and use good technique. The reason you want to kick the ball with you laces is because you will have a ton of power compared to kicking the ball with any other part of your foot or technique. The reason you want to finish on your finishing foot is because if you kick your hardest it will help you get your maximum distance and…

Creating space during a soccer game is very important in getting the ball into the net. There are four things needed to make space and pass: a plan, a distraction, speed, and room to be able to make that space. First you should have a good idea of what to do in this situation and where people are. Second you need some sort of distraction so another player can get open. This is an important step in the process because if you don’t the player getting open will get covered. Then you need to be able to keep the other team on their toes. Lastly the first three steps are useless unless there is actual room to go to. Like if you were to stuck in the corner or totally surrounded by the other team.…

Another example would also be if a player on the opposite team confronts the right back defending they would need to go up to them and have a defensive…
