Dear Parents:
I would like to extend an invitation to you to help make this the best year ever. It is important for us to work together to help the students realize the value of education. Your children and I are looking forward to having you come in and volunteer your time and talents in our classroom.
As a volunteer, you will be greatly appreciated for your dedication to the students and to our school. Your presence in the classroom is a great way to show your love and encouragement to your child. You can effectively communicate with me by contacting me at your earliest convenience.
Motivate the parents to get involved.
Describe district and school policies on parents volunteering in the classroom. Our school 's mission is to create an educational environment in which students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential, and the academic, social, and developmental needs of each student are met. We are looking for volunteers to help us with that awesome task.
Communicate classroom behavior standards and expectations for parent volunteers.
We will value you as a volunteer, and appreciate your dedication to the children as a supportive aide, role model, and mentor.

We know your time is very important, but I hope this invitation will empower you to come in and volunteer. Please feel free to contact me with a time to volunteer that is convenient for you.

Sincerely,

Dailmar Vallejo

During the summer, at ABC Elementary School the leadership committee meets and the question is asked, “What do we want?” This is very important because that is where the schools goals, come from. These goals we be identified and discussed amongst the leadership team which consist of the school administrators and all the head stakeholders within the school. Goals are established primarily for student academic progress, school environment, and how we can have a positive impact on the community. At ABC Elementary we are successful with identifying what goals we would like to reach and what is important to us as a school. The stakeholders at ABC Elementary know that many of our students, if not all are living below the poverty level. One area of improvement is offering/creating adult education classes to the people of the community after regular school hours. It is known that schools are supported and funded by local taxes, but it also makes sense to also educate the community that is helping educate the students in the community. It is known, that many of the parents of the students that attend ABC Elementary school have not received their high…

I have had experience volunteering with the Urdd, supervising groups of primary school children at Glan-Llyn; where another member of staff and I were responsible for a group of children while they took part in various activities. Each Tuesday morning for the last year, I have volunteered at Ysgol Gynradd Cemaes at the Infants' department, where I helped the children with their work and spent time with small groups of children on specific tasks. During my time volunteering at Ysgol Gynradd Cemaes, I also spent time with pupils who suffered from learning difficulties, and this helped me to see how certain tasks have to be adapted in order for pupils of varying abilities to succeed. I have also played a large part in the process of transferring pupils in my school's catchment area from primary school to secondary school, by volunteering as a Year Twelve buddy, providing a point of contact at the school for the pupils if they felt in any way uneasy or upset. I was also part of a group of Year Twelve students who ran an arts club for pupils from years 3-9 where primary school children were introduced to the school and some of its current pupils and students through a series of arts and performance workshops. Through…

Every Friday during the semester, I made my way to an elementary school to participate with the Adopt-A-School program; which was apart of an educational initiative for my sorority. The mission of the Adopt-A-School program represents a tremendous opportunity to positively affect the lives of students, teachers, and volunteers. My chapter chose to adopt Berg Jones Elementary School in Monroe, Louisiana. This was an inner city school that ranged from Pre-K to grade 5, and included about 500 students. Through my two years of volunteering, I was rewarded with such a gratifying experience as well as some encouragement of what I wanted to do as a career in the future.…

Life is a journey that is traveled by many, however, not everyone gets to experience the fruits of their labor. Throughout the school year, I volunteer at my middle school and tutor students of all ages, ranging from first to eight grades. Each one of my students has grown into intelligent thinkers; curious about the world around them. Since I have been volunteering from a young ripe age of 13, surrounding myself with children creates a deep connection. I believe that it is my duty to aid and support them as they mature into improved readers and thinkers. In addition, by understanding their struggles, I am able to provide my students with feedback that will help them excel in that subject.…

As a volunteer with my high school friends, we were given the opportunity to attended and to help to explain how the program works. A woman named Kathy came and approached me. Although I could tell that she was exhausted, but she offered a warm smile as she greeted me . Afterward we began to walk towards the table, she informed me that she was a mother of five children, and this would be the first check up she's had in the last two years. Her story began to inspire me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. The most amazing aspect of Kathy was the joy when she talked to me about her children. Her dream was for her children to have a better education. Although she doesn't have enough money to take care of her children but she won't give up and always keeps up the hard work. We sorted out the perfect medications for each of her children and stacked them carefully in her bag. As she gathered her things to leave, she embraced me tightly and continued to thank me. She reminded me that this will mean the world to her children, and she could not even begin to describe how much my help meant to her. I smiled back with happiness .…
