Par-Q testings is an important tool for a sports professional to evaluate the need to incorporate the use of a physician in a the long term physical fitness goals of a client. This method questions several important health facts to help determine if outside assistance would be necessary. For example, by asking if a person has a history of knee injuries or other orthopedic problems. By using these questions a sports professional would be able to evaluate the prospective client’s health condition and recommend having a full physical before starting intense aerobic activities.
Based on the Par-Q questionnaire it would be important for me to seek physician assistance before starting a new physical fitness plan. Heart and cardiovascular problems have plagued my family for many generations and due to a recent diagnosis of Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) concerns a cardiologist would need to evaluate my ability to handle strenuous exercise and at what amount. This week I will undergo a cardiac stress test with nuclear dye to evaluate the amount of blood that is pumped through the heart and valves

Due to having a chronic heart condition my exercise level needs to be evaluated and based on what the cardiologist thinks my heart can handle. This activity will be monitored and may increase or decrease as seen fit by my the physician. The 4-2 lab scores evaluated me to be in the Preparation stage of my physical fitness. For example, the cardiologist will review and evaluate the current condition of the heart and then I can plan out a workout scenario that will benefit my current condition. These findings of Preparation were concise with the 3-1 lab questions that labeled me into the preparation stage in the past chapter where Thygerson and Thygerson (2014) states preparation to be the intent to exercise in the next 30 days (p.
