Oscar goes to…Fast and Furious 6 (2013)
Ever wanted to become a speed racer? Have the fastest cars, the sexiest women and then highest authority in your town? Well here’s your chance. Fasten your seatbelt, get your game face on and accelerate your mind in the criminal works of Justin Lin in the franchise movie of Fast and Furious 6.
Following their successful Rio heist, Dominic Toretto and his crew of professional criminals have secluded around the world: Dominic lives with Elena; his sister Mia lives with Brian O'Conner and their son, Jack; Gisele and Han have moved to Hong Kong; and Roman and Tej live in luxury. Meanwhile, Hobbs, has been tracking the organisation of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, in order to help him eradicate criminal mastermind, Shaw. The teams longing to be home and their undying love for drag racing induces them to join Hobbs in his mission to stop Shaw.
Scattered across the globe, the testosterone-filled team, featuring; Ludacris (Tej), Tyrese Gibson (Roman) and Paul Walker (Brian O’Conner) are re-united for another mind captivating adventure filling their incomplete lives, living on the outskirts of America and distanced away from home. The team are reunited after following the revelation that former team member Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is alive, and working for lethal master criminal, Owen Shaw. Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto) and his team of road-raging outlaws, join forces with their advisory hunk, Agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) to retrieve Letty and destroy Shaw’s plans.
The only way Dom is able to obliterate Shaws plans, is to get his team to assemble in the narrow streets of London to meet the military convoy and his elite team. Throughout the film, there are a number of jaw dropping and flabbergasting vehicle shockers, you may require. A saucy surprise for the men as an all-female wrestle-off takes place in a London underground station.

    The word redemption can be defined as atonement for guilt or to extricate, release and to make good. This film starring Jamie Foxx tells the story of reputed gang leader Stan “Tookie” Williams who while incarcerated experience an epiphany and dedicates his life to making up for mistakesof his youth and redeems himself. Recognized as the founder of the notorious street gang the Crips in South Central Los Angles at the age of 17. Williams hadn’t intended on the Crips to become a gang of crime and violence: he wanted them to do something positive to protect his neighborhood from the street gangs. In a few years the Crips had branches in nearly every state and were know as the biggest and most powerful gang in the country. Ultimately, Williams was convicted of four murders and sentenced to death in 1987 and confined at San Quentin prison. There he decided to become an advocate for peace, harmony, and non-violence. Lynn Whitefield played the role of Barbara Bechnel, a jounalis, writing a book chronicling the evolution of the Crips gang, who interviewed him in prison and eventually abandoned the project after developing a trusting relationship with Williams in order to help him write children’s books encouraging peace and anti violence.
