Office Art: Worth the Investment
Dear Regional Director, I have done most of the leg work and have come up with some ideas of some art that we could put in the office that would help to show our workplace is open and inviting. These pieces of art will not cost more than the budget you gave me because they will be copies but referenced to the museums that own the originals. I have also taken the liberty to find simple but elegant frames that will blend in with the design that is already in the offices and they will be lit with small LED lights off the frames that will show the works at their best. All of this is within budget and I can have them delivered and hung by the end of the quarter. The first set of paintings are from the impressionism era that will help to bring in some light colors and simplicity can look beautiful. The first one, Still life apples and grapes, is a simple painting of apples and grapes from Claude Monet, who was one of the original painters to break away from the realistic movement from the 18th century (Claude Oscar Monet, 2002-2014). This is just as the title says it is some apples and grapes on a table, with some being in a bowl and some being on the table. They cast their shadows so that it is very easy to see where the light comes in, which is a big idea that came about in this era. It is a very primitive way of showing a 3D look to what is in the painting and one of the first in history that was seen for its simplicity. This simple painting shows how light, a forgotten about element, can really change and have an impact on what you see on the fruit. The light is like the all the employees that are not management because they are there but sometimes they can be forgotten about. This painting will be one that goes between being in the lunch room and being in the front atrium. The second

He is known for his still life paintings. The piece located at the Muskegon Museum of Art is a small arrangement of fruit on a table. The background is a plain grey color and the table that the fruit is all sitting on is a dark greyish black marble one. In the center of the picture is the display of fruit. The arrangement of fruit appears to have a light shone on it, causing it to stand out even more against the dark table and background. There are both white and black grapes, peaches, a pear, two plumbs, some small red berries and some leaves on a stem that I am assuming are part of a grape vine. Some of the leaves are completely green, others are like those in the fall that are on their way from green to red. Every color is present in the picture is present. White grapes, the red berries and the red on the edges of the leaves, orange in the leaves and on the peaches, yellow in the leaves and the peaches, the green stems and the leaves sprouting from them, blue and purple in the grapes that fades into the same shade of black that is the…

This drawing is considered to be a more honest depiction of the events held at Medicine Lodge Creek due to what aspect he includes that all others are missing. When looking over a comparison drawing of the event, done by Taylor, you notice that in Taylor’s drawing, there are many native men, and white men, but only one woman. This woman was not even a full native, yet instead an interpreter for one of the tribes. In the drawing done by Howling Wolf however, he represents the many native women present, and identifies them with characteristics in their hair, or on their tepees. Howling Wolf’s drawing is mainly focused on the women, and represents their great importance with the treaty signing. Women were very important to the tribes. They played a great role and importance all over the Plains society. Howling Wolf in my opinion was more honest as to include all members that took part in the treaty signing, as opposed to others, who picked and choose whose importance was needed in the art.…

You walk into an interview, as you sit down, cross your legs and start to admire the new pair of heels you bought specifically for the interview, you notice you forgot to put a Band-Aid aid over the rather large but feminine tattoo that you have on the top of your foot. You uncross your legs and nonchalantly slide your feet under the table, but it is too late! The woman who is sitting across from you interviewing you, who decides the fate of your professional career, has already noticed it. She raises her eye brows and crinkles her nose and quickly compliments your new shoes because she is aware you saw her disgusted facial gesture. You get a very unfriendly vibe throughout the interview and notice she has mentioned what a professional place ABC company is to work and is already insinuating you might not fit in with the culture there.…

The painting is composed of three main elements, namely the featured objects (eggs, pan, pitcher), the wooden shelf on which they are resting, and the dark background which we can assume to be a darkly painted wall. The composition is very traditional for a still life painting, as we have the foreground consuming most of the space within…

Installation art is difficult to describe. It's a huge three-dimensional painting, sculpture, poem, and prose work.…

    1. Cultural studies in the academies of the advanced capitalist countries has transformed the object of studies in the humanities. In particular, in English departments, cultural studies has challenged the predominance of the governing categories of literary studies (the "canon," the homogeneous "period," the formal properties of genre, the literary object as autonomous and self-contained) in the interest of producing "readings" of all texts of culture and inquiring into the reproduction of subjectivities. To this end, pressure has been placed on disciplinary boundaries, the methods which police these boundaries, and modes of interpretation and critique have been developed which bring, for example, "economics" and "politics" to bear on the formal properties of texts. In addition, the lines between "high culture" and "mass culture" have been relativized, making it possible to address texts in terms of their social effectivity rather than their "inherent" literary, philosophical or other values.…
