Some characters in the book needed someone to take care of them. Lennie was one of the main characters and he had Down Syndrome and needs George to speak for him and get him out of trouble and follow him everywhere he goes. “You never had none, you crazy bastard. Curley is trouble because he is always trying to fight the bigger guys like they have something on him.That is why he tried to beat up Lennie but he got his knuckles crunched and had to go the hospital. “Then Curley’s rage exploded. “Come on, ya big bastard. Being someone’s keeper takes tons of risks and respect. The price of trouble you will go through and endure will be high. It requires complete dedication to help the person you are looking over and there is always a good reason to be someone’s keeper. George was always trying to keep Lennie out of trouble and always cared about him.
