Ocean Pollutions
Our ocean is very important because, animals live in the ocean and without the ocean our earth will be dry.But until then, people always pollute the ocean with, candy rapers, plastic, and, bottles. Those are the worst things people do to our ocean. We can get rid of the pollution if we stop throwing plastic in the ocean or water, cause fish eat the plastic then fisherman catch fish and they give the fish to the stores who need fish for the meat market. And when they buy fish we ear it and then plastic from the fish goes down in our stomach and that is what causes us to feel sick.So thats why we need to stop polleting the ocean. We can stop doing this if we throw away the rapers and throw plastic in recycling bins. For those who liter they throw in in

To begin, Pollution is a major threat to ocean life. In the text it states that, “Approximately 6.4 million tons of plastic and other debris enter the oceans each year.” (Oceans: into the deep 13). This proves pollution is a big problem throughout the ocean because we liter but we can help the environment by, trying to recycle and dispose of trash properly if we remember to do this, we could help the ocean. Additionally, Fishing is another major problem life in the ocean faces. In the text it states that, “We are carelessly catching fish faster than they can reproduce.”(Oceans: into the deep 14). This shows that fishing is a threat to ocean life because, we are putting fish into near extinction but we can help by making smart seafood choices. Finally, Climate change is the final major threat to ocean life. In the text it states that, “Warming ocean waters, rising sea levels and violent storms disrupt the lives of many species and affect fragile marine ecosystems.” (Oceans: into deep 14). This shows that climate change is affecting the lives of animals beneath the water, but we can help by walking and riding a bike whenever we can. Even though there are many great things about the ocean there are also some dangers too. The ocean is home to many species and is a beautiful place if we don’t protect it we will lose all the life in the…

Ocean pollution is such a broad topic, and one that has many facets to it. As a group, we found it to be a very intriguing topic that it relevant to our everyday lives. As New Jersey residents, we have all spent time at the Jersey shore. We have all enjoyed the small and big beach towns, the sand, and of course the ocean. Recently, we have each noticed reduced pollution and cleaner water. Then we read article after article on increased pollution, damaging toxins, deteriorating health and wellbeing of sea life. How can this be, with all the scrutiny and awareness placed on litter and pollution is general. Then we realized that it was more than just leaving a plastic bottle on the beach or failure to through away a paper wrapper. In fact, it is more damaging than this. It is more so about the toxins and chemicals that seep into the land, the runoff from building and homes, the ground and air pollution that comes from industry and factories, and the pesticides that are evident in farming and everyday lawn care.…

Ocean pollution also affects humans. Chemicals such as pesticides, lead, and other heavy metals found in polluted water can contaminate water supplies and food chains which can have negative impacts, such as: hormonal problems, reproductive problems, nervous system damage, and kidney damage. Pollution on the beach can also cause severe reactions and illness through physical contact or ingesting the water. These reactions include stomach aches, diarrhoea, and different types of rashes.…

The Ocean seems to be used as a dump for everyone to throw their trash away in. Seems to be like all the pollution in the ocean comes from human waste than anything else. The ocean pollution is now a big problem facing us in everyday life. For years we have been trying to stop the dumping of trash, chemicals, and toxic waste into our oceans, but the people who do it still find ways to get around the rules. They just don’t seem to care about the problems we are going to face in the future with this. The ocean gets polluted in a couple ways, waste chemicals and plastic debris.…

For example, industrial waste that contained 17 million tons was being dumped into oceans legally in 1970; in addition, a year after the amount of waste was reduced to 8 million tons [3]. In the 8 million tons of industrial waste, the materials contained large amounts of acid based materials, metals, and waste from coal mining. Another cause is radioactive waste from medical use, nuclear power processes and research by using radioisotopes. Since radioisotopes are radioactive for an increasingly large amount of time, the waste can be extremely fatal to marine animals and their ecosystems. All of these examples are human-made due to the inexperience of disposing toxic chemicals, and the convenience of simply dumping any type of waste to the ocean (since the ocean is so large). Littering is believed to be the source of ocean pollution. The reason is that materials and waste are supposedly blown and landed directly into oceans; in addition, some marine animals can mistake certain materials as food which can be pernicious. There are other forms of ocean pollution like oil spills and mining. Oil spills are considered to be the “most devastating effect” due to the crude oil being extremely difficult to remove [3]. The toxicity of the crude oil can leave marine animals trapped and in result, can be fatal. Ocean mining is drilling into the deepest parts of the ocean, which can impact the environment and increase toxic levels. If the drilling is not properly dealt with, then this can seriously harm the ecosystems in the lower parts of the ocean. Most of the debris that stay in the ocean and unable to decompose can degrade oxygen levels, thus, chances of survival is reduced to a minimum…

We have been in a battle with ocean pollution with plastics for decades. Our battle with this pollution has left many innocents in the line of fire. The United States alone throws away 35 billion plastic water bottles a year. 80 billion tons of ocean pollution is simply food containers and packaging. Due to our negligence of the ocean and our waste, the marine population has suffered. The plastic pollution in our oceans alone has impacted 267 marine species. The marine animals become entangled, suffocated, infected, and many other things by this pollution. Not only are animals that lay under the water affected, but also ones who are above. Sea birds have been greatly impacted by this pollution as well. Many ingest the plastic…

It was thought that the ocean was so deep and huge that no matter how much garbage you put into it would have small consequences. As we have seen that is very wrong, here are a few of the problems ocean pollution cause: Toxic metals can destroy the biochemistry, behavior, and reproduction of marine life. Fertilizer runoff creates eutrophication that flourishes algal bloom (rapid increase or accumulation in the population of algae in aquatic systems) which depletes the oxygen content in the water that affects marine life. Today, in many parts of the world, sewage water is discharged in the ocean…

For most people, the ocean is something that has always been there. After all, Earth is covered in a lot of water. But not everything is as fine as it seems. Although it may look like everything is doing well, the truth is that the ocean, and the marine life it sustains, is actually dying.
