According to the “University of the People Student Handbook”, the necessary criteria for an objective proctor is that they be at least twenty-one years of age, and be a responsible adult. A responsible adult is one that is a reputable person of integrity, and may hold positions of responsibility such as a work supervisor, pastor, librarian, teacher or public official. A potential

Proctoring is when someone watches the person while they are taking a test. This is important, because it lessens the chance of the person cheating. The person who is in charge of the student has to be a reputable person and has to apply as a proctor in advance. They cannot be a relative of the student in question, since the relative will want his or her relative to succeed and may turn a blind eye to any cheating. However, if the person has no relation to the student, then the proctor will not allow the student to cheat. Someone who is a local official, supervisor at work and a librarian can become a proctor as long as they are 21, plus they have to be over 21. Proctored exams are necessary in order show that the student really understands…

Rhett, stating the overt act’s definition in the intro sentence of your discussion board really helped clarify your post and made for a great introduction. I found it very interesting when you mentioned, “This act does not need to be illegal. It just has to guide one or two people towards committing an act.” When doing the research to complete my discussion board I did not realize that the act did not have to be illegal. I also mentioned the Whitefield V. United States case for the case that might not be required for conviction of conspiracy. Cornell University Law School mentions, “An overt act is a statutory requirement, not a constitutional one” (Conspiracy, n.d.). Therefore, the illegal act in Whitfield v. United States was the conspiracy’s…
