Nt1330 Unit 3 Assignment Of Information Gathering
Information gathering is a key element when you are trying to find some hidden data about someone, a company, or even a school. In a university, I could determine what the internet protocol address range by going to a web browser and typing in WHOIS in the search engine. Afterwards I would click the WHOIS link and it will take me to a screen with a text search box where I would put in the domain name of the university and hit search. Then I should see the results and it will give me the university’s IP addresses in a range from beginning to end. If I wanted to retrieve data from the Domain Name System, I would log into one of their networks and go to the command line interface and use the nslookup command tool that will allow me to retrieve information from the DNS server saying what is the current server I am currently on and its IP address. In addition I could get more information just by using the nslookup …show more content…
The information that would publicly published on the web and that will be worth gathering would be their full name, telephone numbers, email addresses, and the address where they live. Some challenges that I might encounter in my scans of the university are firewalls, an intrusion detection system, or a DMZ will detect me and it will prevent me from going through to obtain information. Also the university might have already sanitized their public information that is on the web. Some data the will be missing are the people that are responsible for every network device, this will be hard because there name will appear as unknown and it will be difficult where to locate that specific network in the

In Unit 5 Activity 2 we were asked to predict and then find the brightness and flow rate of a closed circuit with a three cell battery pack, a long bulb, a capacitor parallel to the long bulb, and a round bulb. I originally predicted that the round bulb would be brighter when the circuit was first closed and when the circuit reached a steady state, and that the wire between the round bulb and the negative side of the battery would have a higher flow rate than the other wires. However, in the steady state the long bulb was actually brighter, and all the wires had the same flow rate. The new data allowed me to understand how different resistances in bulbs affects the brightness of bulbs in the circuit.…

In a bus configuration, each computer in the network is responsible for carrying out its own communications without the help of a central unit. A common communications cable (the bus) connects all of the computers in the network. As data travels along the cable, each unit performs a query to determine if it is the intended recipient of the message. The bus network is less expensive than the star configuration and is thus widely in use for systems that connect only a few microcomputers and systems that do not emphasize the sharing of common resources.…

Data collection would be accomplished by the assigned individual who would screen the emails in the support distribution email box, then move all the misdirected emails to a separate email folder labeled “Misdirected” each day, then and there forwarding a copy to the correct department. The moving of the emails allows a total to be collected each day, so at the end of the week they would be totaled and recorded to measure the effectiveness of the new process. There was a study conducted using research from comparable organizations, using a similar process that concluded that we should have a benchmark of 1 misdirected email a week. Furthermore, we would need someone to monitor the total number of non-technical support request that come in to…

An operating system (OS) is an interface between hardware and user which is responsible for the management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the resources of the computer that acts as a host for computing applications run on the machine. As a host, one of the purposes of an operating system is to handle the details of the operation of the hardware. This relieves application programs from having to manage these details and makes it easier to write applications. Almost all computers (including handheld computers, desktop computers, supercomputers, video game consoles) as well as some robots, domestic appliances (dishwashers, washing machines), and portable…
