Nokia Marketing Mix
Change for good
With over 1.3 billion customers using Nokia devices, we’re in a unique position to effect positive environmental and social change around the world. For us, sustainability isn’t merely an exercise in damage limitation – it’s an opportunity to make a real difference, both to people and to our planet.
Caring for the environment
Climate change, energy and resource use are some of the biggest challenges facing the world today. From natural disasters to food security to rising sea levels, they all impact economies, communities and the environment. So we’re doing our best to help wherever possible.
This means integrating environmental sustainability into everything we do. For example, reducing the emissions of our own facilities and those of our suppliers; increasing energy efficiency throughout our operations and using green energy where possible; saving resources through simple initiatives such as cutting down on packaging; and using sustainable, ethically sourced materials in our products.
In addition, our product creation is guided by life cycle thinking. It helps us continuously improve the environmental aspects of our products and processes in each phase of the product life cycle, from raw material acquisition to the end of life of the product. Over the years, we have been able to reduce the environmental impact of our products significantly.
But we go further than that. We also use our considerable resources to help organisations such as WWF and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) develop and implement environmental projects around the world. And we use our global reach and mobile technology expertise to encourage our customers to adopt greener, more sustainable lifestyles.
Making lives better
Clearly, our environmental investments and initiatives also have social benefits. After all, protecting the planet is vital to the wellbeing of the communities it supports. In addition, we invest in social projects which impact three

“People tend to focus on the here and now. The problem is that, once global warming is something that most people can feel in the course of their daily lives, it will be too late to prevent much larger, potentially catastrophic changes,” Elizabeth Kolbert. For decades our world has been changing slowly, and we have felt the wrath of global warming. Recent hurricanes such as Ike, Wilma, Katrina, Rita, and now Sandy have caused many casualties, billions of dollars in damage and chaos to environments around the world. The effects of these storms are only getting greater with time. We can’t simply adapt to it, and the costs are incalculable. What we are facing is huge, global warming is real, and it is here! It’s time we start focusing on using clean energy exclusively, because the better option is out there.…

Climate change, often referred to as global warming, is a rising issue that has been further developed over recent years. To clarify, the term ‘climate change’ refers to any significant change in the measures of climate lasting for an extended period of time. Such changes include but are not limited to major changes in temperature, precipitation, or wind patterns occurring over several decades or longer. Therefore, the specific term ‘global warming’ is only one aspect of climate change and used when referring to recent and ongoing rise in global average temperature near Earth's surface. This steady rise in temperature is causing significant changes in weather and climate which is alarming because even small changes can create problems in our delicately balanced environment which will lead to challenges in our society. As a human race, we depend on the environment for fresh food, fresh water, and fresh air, so when there are complications with the balance of the environment, there are potential complications to our survival.…

Climate change or also know as greenhouse effect is the major problem that we are facing right now. Our ozone layer gets more and more thinner due to excessive carbon emission that we make from our day to day activities and the equiptments and machineries that we use. It is very harmful to our environment and we need to act on it quickly to be able to gradually lessen these harmful effects. In humankind’s pursuit of well-being, we both influence and respond to climate. Anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases affect the heat balance of the Earth, and the resulting changes in precipitation patterns, temperature extremes and rising sea levels affect how society develops. The dynamic interaction between humans and climate is not new, but the scale of the interaction has reached unprecedented proportions. Climate research at the Earth Institute spans multiple disciplines. While climate scientists study the effects of increased temperatures and atmospheric carbon dioxide on the world’s oceans and weather patterns, engineers are seeking ways to produce cleaner energy and provide steady supplies of fresh water. Social scientists, policy experts and lawyers are studying human behavior in the face of change as a way to improve how we make decisions, and the policy and legal tools we can use to implement measures that address the climate challenge. The Columbia Climate Center integrates research from throughout the University and across…

In society nowadays, sustainability is rather an important concept for mostly all organisations. Over the past few years, the pollution rate has rapidly increased all over the world; and so, many designers, developers, engineers are seeking new ways of approach to be able to achieve the goal of being sustainable, then apply it to their designs and improve the quality of life. Supposing, there are no researches into being more sustainable, what will then happen is that in a long run, the human race will have to suffer several consequences, for example, climate change, which is already happening at the moment. And to what reason sustainability is so important to the organisations – the producers? The fact is that, marketing nowadays is actually revolved around the customers, in particular, customer’s wants and needs, and their satisfaction. And when the customers have come to acknowledge the importance of protecting the environment; to be able to sell their products/designs, the producers need to create a solution that helps to improve their products, being more ecology.…
