No Equality in America
No Equality in America

In “ The Growing Gulf Between Rich and the Rest of the Us” Holly Sklar claims the American

is not real because America has more poverty than other developed countries and less chance for the

poor to become rich.

There is no American Dream anymore because most of the money to rich people . The rich

people are richest than all the country together. The Middle Class fights to stay in the middle class

because it is really difficult to stay in this place. It is easier to become poor than rich because America

has become a downward society instead of an upward mobile society.

Most of the U.S money belong to rich people. The rich people are richest than all the country

together. People can put 1 million every day during a year and they could not be in the Forbest 400

who is the richest people in America. The minimum to be in the Forbest 400 is to have 900 millions .

Soon Forbest will accept just billionaire 's people. According to Sklar, since 2000, there are 76 more

billionaires in America. All of the Forbest 400 people combined has more than a trillion dollars. Her

claim is true because because all the rich people can get whatever they want. At the same time, some

people in America cannot buy food for their children.

The Middle class fights to stay in the middle class because it is really difficult to stay in this

place . If people lose their jobs or become sick, they do not have enough money to pay for basics

expenses. A lot of american people cannot all the basics expenses and that is why they will not

become rich. Instead of helping the middle class and the poor people, the government helps all the rich

people who already have enough money. Sklar 's claim is not really true because if people work more

they will have more money or if they save their money and do not spend in the wrong way they can

leave the misery. If the middle class people gives a good education to their children, their children will

go to school and get a diploma to make more money than their parents and leave the misery.

It is easier to become poor than rich because America has became a downward society instead

of an upward mobile society. In other words, poor people have a lot of difficulties to get out of their

misery because they do not have enough opportunities. They spend all their money on basic expenses

and the government does not help them enough. So they can just go down in the society of today. Her

claim is true because nobody thinks about poor people and they fall away because they did not have the

help that they needed.

The American Dream used to mean having a nice car, a beautiful house, being married with

three children, and having a good job. Nevertheless, it does not exist anymore because of the society

of today. There are too many poor people. Poor people become criminals and their children become

delinquents . The government should do more to help them instead of helping people who have more

than they need if they want to become and equal country.

Sklar does not believe in the American dream because there are too many differences between

rich and poor people, and the government does not help people who really need it. If poor people want

to leave misery and poverty, they should work more and send their children to school. If they do these

things, they can have a better future than their parents.

Americans believe that having money is part of the American Dream. Although not everyone sleeps on piles of Benjamins, everyone wishes they did. Americans' obsession with money is actually quite incredible compared to other places. "The Soviets honor the holding of power;… Europe and Asia manage to balance their desire for wealth against other claims of the human spirit." Americans tend to go out of their way to make money. The difference between Americans and other places is that the Americans will betray what they believe in most, just to gain a few bills.…

Sadly, further research into poverty indicates that “ many children face the prospect of having lower living standards than their parents” (Boffey, 1). As a society, many Americans are disregarding the future that children in the middle class were supposed to have. Since the middle class are receiving lower income, the middle class children will have never have the opportunity to proceed to college without being in debt afterwards. When they graduate, they will be living paycheck to paycheck solely because of the low income their parents received. In order to prevent the death of the middle class, we must provide higher positions in society to those who work harder to secure the future of America’s…

The American dream is required through the accomplishment, wealth, reputation, and power. Any person can reach their American dream. All levels of accomplishment differ based on what one would like to reach.
