New Hope Community Church Experience Paper
New Hope Community Church(P) held graceful fellowship with Korean members on April, 4. One of their friends invited them to table fellowship with a serving heart. On the day, they went to a good restaurant and ate the delicious foods. Also, they talked about God. One of their family memebers wants the minister to meet their child who is a student of OSU. The minister could feel the working of the Holy Spirit through them. She was thankful for their serving and became warm heart.

"We are Chinese-Korean in America. Most of them came here for supporting financial situation of family. Even now, there are lots of people who are living lonely because their family are still staying in China for children. I also were separated with my family over 15 years for earning money for them. I wasn really lonely so sometimes, I went to Kasino but it's really not good place. I became an addiction of it and my body became really weak because usually, I could not eat as well by alone. There are lots of the families like me in United states. Also, it is not good to their family. Many of them became broken family after the father came to USA because they did not see for a long time. In this situations, I really want to help many families. There are many people surrounding me because usually, they are going to Kasino and spending time and money recklessly. I see there is God's hands for taking care of me through them. Our church Korean members are serving me really well. I really appreciate them that they have warm heart. I believe there would be great God's blessing for this family. They really love me even though I am weak so this is God's grace for me. They strengthen me always.     As we were walking across the gates of DLSU, I felt uneasy because I didn’t know what to expect from the immersion in barangay 704. The villagers welcomed us when we reached their place. Me and my partner volunteered to be assigned to the Muslim family in the barangay, because we wanted to experience and learn the things they do. When we were walking to their home we saw children playing and the elders smiled at us. Once we reached their home we felt at home because of the feeling of warmth to us. Their home is very small to which, you can only walk two steps. They are six in the family and Nanay Salud (our host parent) is married to a Christian man. She said that it was difficult because she was the only Muslim in the family, her children and husband go to mass separately. While she was away buying food for lunch, we played with the kids and I began to realize that life is simple: be happy and you will be fulfilled. We had fish galungong for lunch which was very good. After eating, we walked around the barangay with our host parent and we saw our fellow block mates with their host families. Then, we stopped at our friend’s host family’s house near our host house. We caught our friends singing karaoke as a result we joined them. But because of the lack of the time our singing was cut short because we had to go back to our meeting place. When we had settled down we began to reflect how their life and our life was different. We also thanked them for their hospitality they have given us. Once we reached DLSU we felt very tired but I said to myself it was worth it because of the lessons I’ve learned during our stay in the barangay, where I can use in my daily life to achieve my goals. Life isn’t all about money, it is about how you live your life with your friends, family and other people. Doing the right things in life instead of the wrong things will help us achieve our desired goals in life.…

    Trinity Methodist Church was the place we chose for our moral studies assignment. The reason we chose Trinity Methodist Church because we wanted to do some community work in order to help the society. Besides, our transport problem was deal with as the Church provided a van to fetch us there. Trinity Methodist Church act like a home for us. We felt very happy and blessed. We even helped to wash some of the church’s vehicles. Hence, activities and game are also prepared by us for the Sunday class. Those children are just so friendly --- they love to smile. On Sunday, we reached church at 8:00 am.Then, we joined their Sunday class with little kids. It took 3 hours to finish the games for them to play. Everything goes smoothly.
