M.E.L (My Experience in Life) In my life, I had many past and present experiences that I have encountered. Some of my past experiences are very memorable like my present ones, because of the impact they had on my life and the significance in a particular one. One experience I remember the most comes from my childhood when I was a freshman in high school in which I stood up to a classroom bully that was mistreating me. As a freshman in high school, I was placed in band class for my first semester and decided to try out for the school band. This was my first time learning an instrument and marching in a band, so I choose to play cymbals because they seem easier to learn and play. Upon choosing my instrument, I was the only freshman who chose the cymbal section of the band. In this section we had a senior student that was in charge who was very mean and intimidating like a military drill instructor. While trying out for the cymbal section of the band, the section leader would make me do numerous humiliating things beyond his authority. He would make me open doors for him, lots of exercises with the cymbals or whatever he could think of to embarrass me in front of the other band members during tryouts. One day after school, we were participating in tryouts when there were a lot of mistakes made while playing along with band but not by me. As tryouts concluded for the day, the section leader expresses in thunderous tone “My section to assembly room now!” Everyone ran to the assembly room in the quickest way possible in fear. After the whole section was finally in the assembly room standing nervously and sweating, the section leader calls me to the front. As I was standing facing him at about an arm distance, he grabs my shirt and yanks it pulling me with inches of his face and yells “You’re an idiot” in front of everyone. Suddenly I became angry and fiery, so with both of my hands I push him away from me

Let me take you through what has happened so far; my senior year, which was 2016, I pulled a prank, my senior prank. I sat for months mulling over what to do; thumbtack on chair, loosen bolts on a desk, spray paint or graffiti the gym; I had all these ideas and could not decide! Then finally I thought of one that I just had to do. It was calling and tempting me, and let me tell you, when mean ol’ Ms. Bat came in her room she did not expect all of her desks, tables, and chairs to be turned upside down, all of her books to books to be stacked to look like a seat and stepping stones, and blue suds to be all over the floor. The best part is the ragged old doll that looked like a witch and was dressed up like her. When she walked in first period and saw that classroom, her eyes started to twitch, her face turned red, and I swore I saw steam come out of that woman’s ears. She knew that my friends and I had done it, as we were the only seniors in a freshman class. Ms. Bat took my friends and I to Mr. Tedford, he was not happy! That mean bag suspended us for the rest of our senior year, but he did let us graduate so that he and the teachers didn’t have to deal with us next year.…

My mother told me at least once in my life to stop running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but once my foot hit the asphalt off of the bus, that is what I embodied. I got off of the bus and stumbled up the mountain of steps a plateau of red tile overlooking the parking lot. Parents crammed as far forward as possible like the front of a rock concert to attempt a potential glance at their child. Dragging my Santa Claus bag along with me, I dropped it in order to drink in the air around me. The problem was my bag fell on one of the upperclassmen in command during the summer; it turned out that she was the one who decided the grueling tasks of my day to day life during the summer. During the summer, it was suggested to me to stay below the radar and blend in with everyone. Needless to say that did not happen for…

many angered students exchanging harsh comments and more than likely ready to fight. As soon as I stepped from the dorm steps social control began to take place, my roommate Jason was the first to notice. "Why are you walking like that?" he asked. I responded by saying "like what" shrugged my shoulders and kept walking to class. Ten more students passed and my friend Alicia stopped me, "where is u going walking backwards?" I simply stated "I don't know?" "Where are you going walking forwards?" Confused she let me continue with my walk to class. Three fourths of the way there I heard my name being called so I stopped to see who it was, James my roommate came over to me inquiring the same thing many other students I'm sure were thinking. After a few minutes of debating on which…

As accustomed to most high schools, it was Friday night and the homecoming football game was about to commence. Because I was in a wheelchair I had to sit at the top of the bleachers right in front of the announcer box. At Coldwater High School in Michigan, the bleachers sat on the side of hill with a long grey sidewalk stretching from the ground to the top of hill leading to the top of the bleachers where I sat. As you might of guessed, being up so I high at night, I started to get cold, so I had the bright idea of putting my hands in my jacket and zipping it up, looking like I had no hands. For the first hour or so things were going great, as I was watching and enjoying the game, but then a fellow classmate by the name of Rodney Diffendoll, came around.…

As I was going up to the stage to give my speech, I was welcomed by a loud cheer from the crowd. When I was about to give my speech, everyone rose up and saluted me. In that vast crowd I saw a man staring at me coldly without saluting. Although it was a huge disrespect towards me, I ignored it and I started my speech.…

For 3 years I was required to take take speech therapy during the school days because of my speech impediment. At the time I had no clue that only certain students, like me, were required to take this class. I just thought it was a class to sound out funny words and eat snacks, not knowing that I had a speech impediment. While in this class the teacher would make fridays ‘board game day’ and on this day she would pick a leader to instruct the group of how to play. Being the shy child that I was, I resented this day because I was almost always the leader. As the years went on and the end of my time in this class came to a near, I had begun to break out of my shell. On the very last day of this class I was yet again voted as the leader but this time was different because I wanted to lead and let my voice be heard.…

The real story started with 6th grade in 6th my class mainly the boys acted out a lot so when the 8th graders were learning and using curse words we would to trying to fit in as we all wanted to. Some of my friends and the kids in our group had started doing things besides cursing which included damaging and taking stuff and hiding it and that leads to our story. It was november of 7th i think we had almost complete influence over all of our small middle school. The 8th only had 2 boys and 13 girls so the 8th grade boys hung with us. It was our normal routine make it through all our classes. Get to gym tear stuff up. Our main objective was to have fun not caring what others thought of us nor the consequences of such actions. Thus started the worse day of our lives we to sum things up shortly we finished saying dirty things to the girls and headed to gym. We decided we would play kick ball but soon it became who can kick the hardest i kicked it once and it broke the light. The gym teacher was yelling at us for a while but soon ran in her office crying. After arguing with me and my group of friends. It…

In the beginning, the principal called me up with some other boys and asked us what we did and they told him, but than he came to me."What did you do?" he questioned. While I was so mad with my fist clenched and anger flowing through me like waves, I heard all of them arguing and I smelled…

On the first day of school I was really nervous about going to choir, third period. Until I walked into class and seen my friends standing there, waiting for me. We all greeted each other, talked about our summer, and waited for the bell to ring. A couple minutes later the bell rang and we all took our seats. As soon as Mr. Phalen was finished with attendance, introducing himself, and babbling about the things to be looking forward to during the year, we got talking about concerts and opportunities we could do. He talked a little about an opportunity called, Honor Choir. I had raised my hand and asked when this event would be held. His response was, not until November, Friday the 13th. As class ended it was time for fourth period.…

I slowly became numb to the overly used profanity and scuffles that were consistently taking place around me. I learned that fights at lunch were a common practice and trash talking was just what friends did. I learned to keep my mouth shut and mind my own business unless I wanted to become someone’s next problem. My last class of the day was “Fashion Class”, which is a fancy way to describe basic sewing. Already knowing how to sew, I usually found myself in the position of helping and teaching others. When someone needed help with their machine, the teacher, Ms. V, usually told them to find me. The classroom was set up with two appointed “teacher assistants”. How these girls were selected out of the whole class to help the teacher will always be a question in my mind. Teacher assistant #1 was a petite girl with a mean manner who plucked her eyebrows too thin. She had a rude way of speaking and I think to this day still hasn’t touched a sewing machine. Assistant #2 was a taller girl who always wore black, which made her drug induced, bloodshot eyes stand out. Ms. V would usually give them small and easy tasks to do as the rest of the class were forced to copy down dictionary terms related to sewing. The assistants usually looked down at the others and loved having the power to run the class when Ms. V occasionally stepped…

Well, all this happened a few years ago, when I was studying Interior Design in one of the most recognized school in Puerto Rico. I had these unique teacher/professor/principal, that was the most arrogant and selfish person I ever meet. He was (maybe he still) so disrespectful with everyone including me. I’m not the kind of person that shuts up to receive a disrespectful commentary about my person or my work when I know that I did my best to impress.…

About the time recess was over and the class was coming in, the teacher walked in and told us to bring our work to his desk in front of the class. There was only two of use that gave him a blank assignment. He didn’t take that to well, as he grabbed both papers and directed us to follow him to the office. At the office he looked up for our parent’s numbers from the school records. When he called my step mom and told her what I did he asked if it was ok to discipline me, if he couldn’t do it than she was to come and do it herself. He hanged up the phone with only the word “Ok” and then he took both of us out in…

Then the pleading began. In a desperate attempt to get ourselves out of that humiliating situation, we tried to negotiate with the Principal and the Coordinators. But no one would listen. I felt betrayed. It was like they had forgotten our good grades, our previous commendable behavior. They shouted at us. They acted as if we had done this countless times before and they had only just caught us.…
