She felt a sharp pain in her hip and, after collapsing to the floor, found she could no longer stand. She was taken to the emergency room where an X ray showed that the neck of her femur was fractured. More detailed X ray images revealed reduced bone mass in the head and neck regions of the injured femur, in the ends of other long bones of the body and in the vertebrae. Surgery was necessary to repair the fractured femur and a biopsy of the bone tissue indicated that the composition of the osteoid was normal. Healing of the fractured femur is proceeding slowly.…

For example when he is striking a ball his quadricep contracts concentrically to produce force onto the ball. The more powerful the muscle the bigger the contraction, therefore if Johnny improves the strength of his quadriceps his kicking distance could potentially improve.…

Miner is successful at making his point clear, his point was that we are in a routine and have our faith and placed on doctors and technology, that those have become customs. In Miner’s view, “The Nacirema have an almost pathological horror of and fascination with the mouth, the condition of which is believed to have a supernatural influence on all social relationships”(Miner). Miner is correct, we choose to keep our mouths clean, I consider this relevant for the reason that this has become a routine, this is necessary, but there are other activities we do for example, clothing and making sure we look our best which is honestly just a custom. If I am right about this concern, then major problems follow for the future generations due to falling…

Sky Barragan, daughter of a good friend of mine is the child I observed for this written evaluation. Sky is four years old with a birthday quickly approaching this upcoming July. The observation took place at a local park in Pasadena that Sky frequents quite regularly for play time. We arrived at the park at approximately nine fifty in the morning and left the park at ten thirty. The park is about five acres and located in a quiet neighborhood of Pasadena, CA. It has a playground, basketball courts, handball courts, and plenty of open grass and trees which make for a calm and peaceful setting. The park was fairly empty with a few adults engaging in morning fitness activities, and the playground was empty. The temperature outside was about ninety…
