Myron Levoy Summary

You are walking along an abandoned trail. Then, all of a sudden you see an injured bird that isn't able to fly, or get food. What would you do? Would you keep walking, or save itś life. Well, Aaron sure saved a pigeon´s life. In the story, ¨Aaronś Gift,¨ the author, Myron Levoy, portrays the idea of what someone would do for their family. It not only shows the ordinary life of a boy, but, what the life of a boy should look like. This story explains how to be kind, courageous, and thoughtful. Aaron portrayś the idea of risking something for his family by keeping secrets, fighting bullies, and saving a life. Generally, keeping secrets is not a very smart idea. But, in Aaronś case, keeping this secret would save a life. In the text is states that, ¨Aaron wasn't quite certain what his mother would say about his new found pet.¨ This tells the reader that when he decided to take home his new pet named ,Pidge, he didn't care what anybody else thought. He just wanted to save the bird's life. But, in my opinion his most courageous act of all was saving a life. To most people they don't think much about birds, but Aaron is kind and cares for all. In the story it say, ¨...that half open wing, which seemed to make the bird stagger sideways every so often.¨ This shows the reader that this pigeon is hurt. Aaron is a kind, thoughtful, and courageous person, so helping a bird was just another part of his day. The text also states that, ¨Aaron felt under the shirt, and gently took hold of the wounded pigeon.¨ This part of the text demonstrates the idea that Aaron cares about others.
