My Senior Project Reflective Essay
Over the past few months, I have worked on my senior project. This project is compiled of many different tasks including a research essay, a product, meeting with a community mentor and a faculty advisor, and a sign of commitment, to name a few. To start the entire project, we had to choose an occupation and a problem or innovation in that field. I choose to research adverse drug reactions in pharmacy. Next, I created a sign of commitment to show I was committed to the topic and to state what I was going to do for my product. After finishing my sign of commitment, I chose to do a website as my product, for the general public, to explain adverse drug reactions. For the majority of my senior project, I worked on a research essay about the problem, …show more content…
I had to gather quite a bit of info for my essay due to lack of knowledge and the website and presentation required a lot of time and effort. My original plan was very similar to my end product. I had a specific idea of how I wanted things to end and that is what I did. I met each deadline and put my best work and effort forward. I would give myself an A for my senior project. I would give myself this grade because I worked extremely hard to complete each task to the best of my ability. I gained personal satisfaction through this project because I learned more information about pharmacy. I have learned through this experience that I am organized, a hard worker, dedicated, and I have more confidence in myself than I realized. All in all, I would not change anything from the course of my senior project. I feel I managed my time well and I worked hard and put my best effort into all of my work. I am confident and satisfied in how everything went while working on my project. This has made me want to go into pharmacy even more. I feel I am aware of the problems and I know even more about the field in general after senior project. I am excited for what is to come. Finally, the advice I would give to future seniors is to not procrastinate. Additionally, I would also say put in your best work from the

I graduated from Moanalua High School with an Honor Diploma because I reached the requirements and I also did Senior Project. To me, Senior Project helped me choose what I really want to become in the future, which is to become a Pediatric Neurologist. By taking Senior Project, I got to shadow my Pediatric Neurologist doctor and learn what he does for a living and what made him want to become who is now. In Hawaii, there are only five Pediatric Neurologist in total, counting my doctor, in the State of Hawaii. What made me want to become a Pediatric Neurologist is to help children that are in need, and I wanted to add numbers to the doctors in Hawaii. But what really made me want to become one was that I wanted to feel that feeling that every doctor feels when they…

For my senior project I would like to job shadow at a dental clinic. Growing up I've always been unsure of what I wanted to become, until one day in health class Mrs. Cerna gave us an assignment in which we had to research careers we found interesting. I researched career after career until I finally came across dental hygiene. I read what they do; the working environment and all the requirements needed and suddenly this job piqued my interest. I actually see myself working in an environment like this. I am choosing this project because I know I will enjoy learning furthermore about dental hygiene, and I know I will benefit from it in the…

However, with the good times also came the bad times in school projects. Perhaps the project I am least proud of or could have been better was the trigonometric modeling project for my math analysis class. It's not the fact that the project wasn't fun or even hard, but because it was too straightforward and dull ,in terms of creativity, I did not find it to be the best project. The standards were so easy to meet that to do the project was perhaps one of the easiest tasks anyone could have done their junior year. I’m the type of individual to find joy in a challenge and when one isn’t provided I lack the enthusiasm to do…

The senior project was a challenge simply because the type of research needed was foreign for me. I had researched a few things in past courses but never like this. This project showed me I am not as disciplined as I once was. The senior project has been a revealing process, too. Both in identifying weaknesses as well as strengths. The skill set for attention to detail had gone lax, for me. Which was an area where I could be more attentive. Although, those are areas where I am somewhat weak. I also noticed my strength in assessing the important aspects of an article and then utilizing the information in my writing.…

Senior project is a chance for you to do anything you want to do or have been thinking about doing. It gives you the chance to do something that you’ve always wanted to do but never had the time or motivation to do so. I have already made a few things such as a teddy bear and a bunny. Crocheting takes a lot of time, but since one of my jobs is to take care of my grandmother, I crochet at her house while she helps me learn to do the stitches. My grandmother is my mentor because I have three jobs, and a lot of other things to do so my schedule wouldn’t be able to fit another thing into it like making time to see someone else. While I am learning things from my grandmother, I am using the forum I am in (crochetville.com), to learn other things that she may have not taught me or things I’m not certain about. I also use YouTube to help find different patterns for…

A Sound of Thunder and Nethergrave were two both amazing Stories. I loved them both, but there was one story that stood out above the other. This one particular story was Nethergrave. Nethergrave was an amazing lit up story it literally caught my attention immediately, it was so interesting and good it caught my eye at the very beginning. A Sound of Thunder was also an amazing story but I loved Nethergrave a bit more because it was more of one of those stories that just grabbed my attention. The main thought in my head while I was reading A sound of Thunder was why is the story called A sound of thunder that thought just kept running thru my mind but when I got to finish it I understood it and It was a great story. Nethergrave was basically about a boy who Felt All Alone and just wanted somebody to talk to make jokes with and play around with and that is why he lied to his friends on the internet probably because he wanted them to think he was cool and not some skinny kid who had no friends at all. This story was a good learning experience for me because It can teach someone don’t be afraid to tell the truth even if someone cant except you for who you are that’s their loss because you are probably a great person. Jeremy knew that that other kids didn’t want to be his friends so he met some online friends and they were nice to him because they did not know about the real him and he didn’t know about the real them. Basically what the story is saying is be yourself and don’t lie to be accepted. This was an amazing story and I loved…

The word literature has a great meaning in everyday life and comes in so many different ways. The body of written works of a language, period, or culture with the imaginative or creative writing especially of recognized artistic value (Houghton Mifflin Company, 2011) is the dictionary meaning. Lyrics, poems, short stories are all kinds of literature and many authors will write something they are passionate about or have an interest in. Many instances there are times a writer will write about a particular subject or within a certain genre and they write in a manner that sometimes had a hidden meaning. To know the hidden meaning the author will use symbolism, and as a writer and reader it helps to understand the elements that go into writing a poem, short story, and lyric. The writer goes through a process of creating a theme which helps to set the tone and will help them to develop the plot. Many times an author when writing a poem or lyric will not always have a character, but will have some sort of setting that resulted from the theme. All of the elements of literature need to have been put into place, and in many times the writer will also put a hidden meaning into the story, poem, or lyrics which the reader needs to read between the lines. Symbolism can be revealed in the theme, the tone or the plot of the story, poem and lyric. To find the underlying meaning or the symbolism the author is trying to portray the reader needs to be familiar with the elements of literature. The story “Used to Live Here Once” by Jean Rhys, the poem “The Road not Taken”, by Robert Frost, and the poem “My Papa’s Waltz”, by Theodore Roethke, follow the elements of literature, and have the symbolism that if the reader was not familiar with could miss the meaning of the story or poem.…
