First, I met my role model prosecutor Lim. I knew her when I was 16 and I selected her as my role model. Because, at that time I thought she is in justice. When I became the prosecutor, I worked in crown office at Northen prosecution in Seoul. And I met my role model. She helped me a lot and she remembered the message that I sent when I was a student. In present, once a month, I met her and talk about work, life, study etc. She became my best friend and teacher.
Second, I participate in community as mentor. We have a meeting usually on the weekend at least twice a month. I knew that community through my middle school friend. He was mentee when he was teenager. He wanted me to join that community but sadly I was too busy to join in. But now, I feel big proud of that community. I join as mentor with him and of course there's no tuition fee. Sometimes, I regret to join the community when I was a student. I'm sure that would be really helpful to

The law and its ever-changing characteristics intrigued me at a very early age. Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer. My goal of becoming a lawyer was a bit impractical due to my procrastination after high school graduation and because of my past financial situation. Not knowing what to do then, led me to join the Navy. The Navy afforded me the opportunity to go to school while working and it also allowed me to change jobs so that I can choose something closely related to my goal of becoming an attorney. That’s when I became a Paralegal, or “Legalman” as the Navy calls it.…

My academic, professional and social skills have increased immensely since I have begun this program. Through this process I have gained a deeper understanding of what this chapter has to offer me. Primarily, a network of men with similar goals and similar backgrounds determined to develop each other. Learning is a lifelong process, and to join this network I would have access to unrivaled mentorship and experience. Furthermore, I would have the opportunity to give the same mentorship back to the newer members of the organization. Lastly,…

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve observed people playing music around me. My family is musically inclined, which I believe is the reason I’ve been drawn to it. In 2006, I began taking guitar lessons but I never had much interest in playing. Things changed in 2009, and I wished to be different. I wanted to be good at something so I began to teach myself guitar and have stuck with the guitar until now. In 2010, I began to play on my church’s worship team and I enjoyed it very much. I have now been a worship leader for the past four years and it’s something I love to do. I love it so much that for the past two years I have gone to Camp Electric to improve my skills. Camp Electric is a rock and roll music camp where musicians pick an instrument and they participate in workshops with that instrument. This camp is filled with people who love music and who love playing music. I have such a passion for playing that I have begun teaching guitar lessons and now I am expressing music with my patients in order to achieve a goal.…

Being an active member of a community is critical to creating a good learning atmosphere. The word community is sometimes overused and does not get the emphasis it desires. People want to feel apart of something and creating a functioning system is necessary for success. I have always had a love for working with a team and as a leader, I try to help others achieve their goals. If I attended Villanova, I would make the noun community become a verb by helping others, accepting others, and leading others.…

Living in this community I would be able to share my knowledge with others well as learn from my peers. When first attending The University of Akron in fall 2013, the first activity I participated in was a living-learning community for Speech Language Pathology. After, my first semester I decided to become a part of something bigger than myself and that was Alpha Phi. After joining Alpha Phi, I was also initiated into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I have held positions within Alpha Phi such as, Public Relations and Advertisement chairman. While holding this position I was in charge of collecting all the donations for Red Dress Gala; our philanthropy event where we raised over 10,000 dollars that year. While holding a position in Alpha Phi, I also held a position on the Panhellenic Council as the Vice President of Communication/Marketing.…

I mentioned earlier that lifelong learning has been a part of my goals throughout my life. Going to museums, reading books, talking to people is all ways that I can continue to learn. I strive to glean any knowledge, I feel as though something can be taken from each experience. Lastly, I was able to develop civic and community engagement skills in predominantly every cocurricular activity and every class. I think I have found a new appreciation for the community as the La Verne community has benefited me with so many special things. Friends, teachers, peers, and citizens have all created a sense of belonging to me in a community. I will forever seek a place in a community because I know how important it is to have an enhanced community…

While at Annville Cleona High School, I participated in many clubs and activities both in and out of school. I busied myself outside of school through my job and by completing many hours of community service. For my job, I work at a local movie theater as a crew member and have recently been awarded as employee of the month for August. This position has helped me step out of the realm of Annville by making friends with employees from out of town and also improve my communication and develop customer service skills. As for my service hours, I have volunteered at numerous locations including but not limited to the Ronald McDonald House, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, A Tail to Tell Puppy Mill Rescue, and YMCA’s Camp Shand. During my time at these places, I was able to interact and brighten the days of sickly children, act as a…

The years I spent in middle school and high school have opened my eyes to the field of Social Work. I volunteered whenever I got the chance. I was in Student Council and from that, I donated a lot of my time to help with that and other organizations. Throughout those years, I was rewarded my senior year with an award for the most community service hours. My father works for the Michigan State Police, and through him, I volunteered with a lot of organizations through NCRESA. Halloween Hallow, Santa’s story book, and Kids Day were all different events that I volunteered for an absolutely loved. Now, I am a junior and I have still kept busy with volunteering. My freshmen year, taking SW100, we were required to do 15 hours of community service. I volunteered my 15 hours at the Marquette Jacobetti Veterans Center. Volunteering there has very much impacted my life. Whenever I went to see the veterans I was so thankful to them. Listening to their stories has been one of my favorite volunteer memories. In fact, my older sister Jennifer and I are thinking about going and talking to the volunteer coordinator to see if we can come back and continue. Another activity is Northern’s Make a Difference Day which has always been a great experience. Seeing how grateful those who we raked yards for were was truly wonderful. I will continue with Make a Difference Day! My sophomore year, I signed up through NMU’s volunteer center…

Though I have not yet become financially successful, I still try to give back to my community through my community service. The “Hope Center” in Bushnell, Florida is where I volunteer. The first of the week, we take and organize donations then we open the store on Wednesdays - Fridays for anyone and everyone in need. Most of the time we provide lunch for our customers as well. Helping others, as well as those in need, is something I always strive to do. Also, the Hope Center has prepared my attitude for my future as a nurse. Volunteering at the Hope Center has definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made.…
