My Passion In Health Care
I believe my passion in health care lies with primary care and preventative medicine. My extensive experience working in an emergency room with medically underserved individuals has made me aware of the need these patients have for better access to primary care. My hope would be to make a positive impact on the quality of life for some of these individuals.
Additionally, one of the factors that most influenced me to pursue a medical career is the opportunity I would have to interact with different types of people from different backgrounds. I would envision myself working in a centrally located hospital or clinic so I would have the opportunity to do just that.
Due to my experience as a training officer in the research associates program,

There are two instances in my life that has inspired me to gain interest in medicine. My grandmother when I was around the age of twelve received double bypass surgery and I fell in love with the physician who took care of her. The physician was a middle aged woman who was one of the kindest person I have ever met, and she gave us the news of how everything went fine during surgery. She also gave us great confidence in how my grandmother would return to normal soon. The look on my parents and aunts face when she gave the news gave me goosebumps and to this day I feel the same goosebumps when I think about this. I just wanted to one day be in a position to deliver good news to a family and to see that “look” of relief on their faces. Another…

My most immediate personal goal is to become a doctor, specifically a radiology oncologist, so that I can help others in need. With my values of compassion, healthy-living and respect, I will diagnose, treat, and care for my every patient. In addition, I do not plan on limiting the care I give within the walls of the hospital or clinic. I hope to be a part of Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organization that helps treat people with the greatest needs. If my future circumstances allow me to, I want to devote a few years to this non-profit organization. Through my work, I aim to increase…

    Health Care Setting

I prefer this setting because you need to possess certain skills, which I believe I have or can acquire. Constantly working with patients you need to be able to respectfully communicate with them and to be able to educate them in a manner of which they can understand. I would like to change people’s health so that they may live stronger, longer lives. By working in healthcare settings I can organize and implement programs that people can follow that are beneficial to their health. If a patient is having problem with understanding a procedure, I can explain it in a simpler manner to which they can understand. If they are struggling with a diagnosed chronic disease, I would like to be able to educate the patient on how they can reduce the their problem by having a better diet, planning what to eat in that diet, controlling stress levels, and so on. I have worked in a doctor’s office before and I see how the doctors treat patients. After the patient walks out of their appointment they seem to be confused and have so many questions. Its not that the doctors don’t want to educate the patients, they just simply don’t have the time. As a heath educator I want to be able…

A very good afternoon to my dear lecturer and all my fellow classmates. my passion is to present about Polaroid cameras/ instant cameras. Polaroid camera has been around for ages and of the earliest model can date back as old as 1923. Polaroid Cameras today comes in many designs, and colors. All are designed to suite a variety of taste. Furthermore, the capabilities and benefits of an instant camera/ Polaroid camera have been seriously undermined. I completely agree with about having a passion for social work. Social work is challenging, but yet rewarding. If you going to school for social work, you cannot pursue it for the money. It is just like teachers or police officers. You have to have a passion for it. Yes, I agree the more licensures and advanced degrees you get the more money you can ask for it. That should not be anyone main goals. With males earning more, that is not a surprise. Social work is female dominant profession and males still earn more. I will play devil’s advocate and say males earn more because they are not a lot of them in the field. They are in a need of male social workers to be able to relate to the male…
