Becoming A Medical Assistant Entry Essay

Growing up, seeing my mother and godmother aspiring to become medical assistants began to enhance my interest in the medical field. Skimming through their textbooks intrigued me on how the human body is extremely complex yet I found it to be so captivating. As time progressed, I became even more intrigued in pursuing a career in the medical field. Thus, when I was accepted to Hillcrest High School’s Pre-Med Program I was elated to see that I was now one step closer. Taking rigorous science courses such as Anatomy, Med-Lab and Microbiology, heightened my enthusiasm as I had finally begun to prepare for my future endeavours. I believe to be a good physician empathy is the key towards good quality healthcare and patient satisfaction. My excitement also stems from working with those who have the same interests as me. The thought of being divided into smaller groups as early as college and having the chance to perfect my collaboration skills is exciting because without teamwork you cannot succeed in the field of medicine. Overall, I aspire to someday be a mentor figure and a role model for students and residents.
Although, my educational interest is the catalyst for my pursuit of becoming a doctor; my motivation emanated from more than just wanting to learn how to assess and treat many different conditions. August 31, 2015 is a day I will never forget. My grandmother called and informed me that my mother had just gotten into a car accident.
