My Little Hope
"My little Hope"

By: Jocel M. Pamisaran.

In a dark and empty room, I found myself standing in front of a broken mirror. As I stepped closer to it, I saw my eyes showing the broken pieces of my heart. My hands wanted to arrange the pieces and return it to its wholeness. When I tried to touch it, my fingers burned with its strong fire of hatred. And then my mind reminisced the time when it surrendered to the power of my brave heart.

My heart was so happy then, when I met the man of my dreams. He is the Romeo of my life who gave me the purest love a girl could ever asked for. We made a pact and exchange the thoughts of our hearts.

However, one day my feet took some road I had never taken before. I was fascinated with its alluring light that my body couldn't stop to get closer. I met another man in that road and mesmerized me with all the material things in the world. He tried to give me everything that I almost forgot the vow I made to my Romeo.

He is Samson, an educated person and a perfect man to be with for a lifetime. Days had passed when I realized that I was already imprisoned to his selfish world. I tried to fly and escape but I would always see myself falling into his arms.

Now my heart is shouting, asking for forgiveness. My heart is so tired and broken because every time I sleep, my mind punishes my heart by Romeo's entangled love. I was the one who broke our pact and killed the life of our promises.

Suddenly, I lost the moment and found the dark and empty room with light and beauty when I heard the voice of a little girl saying:

"Mommy, are you alright? Let's eat the food is ready."
"Yes. I am. There's just an insect tried to bite my eyes. Let’s go”

Romeo was also a vey loving person who wanted nothing but love with another person. At first he felt that he was in love with a Lady Rosaline. I remember one day, Romeo visited me in need of my advice. It turns out he was lovesick and depressed that Rosaline didn’t love Romeo as much as Romeo had loved her, and the fact that she decided to become a nun. Feeling sorry for Romeo, I told him to find another woman in Verona, also his friends…

William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet is without doubt one of the most well-known love story. Throughout the five acts of the play, one tragedy follows another, with the famous suicide of Romeo and Juliet as a tragic conclusion. Throughout the play, it may seem that Romeo caused these events to unfold, however it is unjust to say that he bears all responsibility for the tragedy. The decisions, actions and circumstances that other characters made and faced have also contributed to the tragic outcome. Nevertheless, it is also in the hands of fate that destined the immature deaths of Romeo and Juliet…

Romeo and Juliet is hailed as a staple of romantic literature, with beautiful prose and loving relationships. However, while its language is eloquent, Romeo and Juliet’s relation is the antithesis of a good relationship. Any relationship which involves both parties ending up dead within a few days of meeting each other is probably not healthy. It’s clear both of them rushed into it based on superficial reasons and stupidity ended it early.…

I tried to open my eyes but all I could see was darkness. All around me darkness sits, still and quiet. I heard a creak, then a minuscule and weak voice talked, “Sydney, are you alright?” “Mmm” was all I could get out of my weak and tired body. Then the voice talked to me again, “Sydney, this is Dad speaking. The doctor just told me that the impact of you hitting the seat in front of you was very hard, it blinded you for life.” Darkness grabbed me, never letting me be perky and happy again…

When he told me, I was shocked. So shocked I dropped the water vessel I was carrying. Stupidly, I thought how angry mother would be when she found out I got dirt on our water vase. Even though I knew I loved him from the first day we met, how could he be brave enough to say it aloud? This strange boy who believed in alchemy and Urim and Thummim, and who told me he loved me out of the blue, was everything I had been waiting for. I knew he had to find his treasure, and so I told him I would wait for him, with hope and love.…

Nicholas Sparks once said “ we fell in love, despite our differences, once we did, something rare and beautiful was created.” In “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare demonstrates just how beautiful—and fragile—the balance of love is. Although the beauty of Romeo and Juliet’s love is arguable, the fallout of their love is caused by several dynamics; such as destiny, decisions made by others and decisions made by Romeo and Juliet all play a large role in the demise of this “pair of star-crossed lovers.”(pro.6).…

The classical tale of love filled with emotional deaths and an unsatisfying ending. Romeo and Juliet is a tale of two lovers, who were supposedly able to fall in love at first sight. Throughout the story, multiple choices are taken that have a larger impact on the overall end and story of the characters. The consequences of these choices tend to be very deadly or heartbreaking for the other characters. The problem is the fact that these choices could have been avoided entirely, if the correct choice would have been chosen within the moment. Some choices tend to have a big consequence, so it’s important to remember to make each choice through your life is thought through; or else you might just end up like Romeo and Juliet did.…

These walls have heard my cries more than anyone else will and well these mirrors have seen me judge every feature of myself more than anyone else. Always told myself around age 15 that I was stuck in a 25 year old's body and in some ways I was. From the depression to the anxiety, I made it all on my own. Being the child of an African immigrant is not exactly the easiest life to live, but we all go through adversities and like the saying goes it doesn’t matter how you start but how you finish. I finished as a whole new person, a person most will never know. Hearing the car parking the footsteps getting louder and being too scared to face it so I ran to my room. From the arguing to the screams the good to the bad, it made me who I am today.…

Beside my Jewry box laid a letter from my dad and a set of wedding rings. The letter just said at simple I love you. At that moment in my life I wish I could have believed him. After I read the letter my brother and I sat and talked or at least tried. After all the man that was my hero had walked out on my family for another woman.…

That night was the most difficult, as I did not get a wink of sleep, but how could I? After seeing such a beautiful woman, what man would be able to resist such a temptation? I wanted to see her again; I needed to see her again. I had to know she was real. I had to know that I was not crazy, and that perfection did exist, as I had just witnessed it in her. I lay on my bed, watching the sunrise through my window. I rose, and wandered off to a nearby field. I come here to reminisce and appreciate how beautiful the world is, inhaling the natural beauty infused in the flora. I lay beneath the oak tree, so peaceful and pleased. I could hear the soft voice of a woman, whispering sweet melodies. I thought this odd, as I know no one often…
