French writer Guy de Maupassant would eat lunch at the Eiffel Tower’s restaurant out of pure necessity, because as he often remarked, “it’s the only place in Paris where I don’t have to see [the Eiffel Tower]” (Barthes 3). Wherever you are in Paris, whatever the weather, the Tower is always there; the only spot in Paris blind to the Tower is the Tower itself. The Eiffel Tower is constantly seeing all of Paris, and in return, being seen by all of Paris. Robert Delaunay’s piece “Champs de Mars: The Red Tower” (Figure 1.) was painted in celebration of the Eiffel Tower’s structure as an engineering and architectural miracle as well as a symbol of modernity in the nineteenth and twentieth…

For the art project in this class, I visited The Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is located at the west end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. It is one of the most outstanding and largest museums of Art in United States. It was founded in 1876 in conjunction with the Centennial Exposition. This museum is basically formed and grew out of the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London. Originally, this museum was a collection of the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art. Collectively, this is now known as the "The Art Museum." The museum is about 121 years old, and it first opened its doors to the public of the United States back in 1877.…

In the movie “Midnight in Paris”, there are a lot of interesting sights in the most beautiful city in the world. During the film, Woody Allen showed us how Paris is beautiful in the morning, charming in the afternoon, and enchanting in the evening, but it is magic and has a lot of surprising things after midnight. Starting with the Eiffel Tower, there were a lot of iconic shots of Paris at its most touristic points like its beautiful streets under the rain, the famous river in the city ‘La seine ‘, and the broad gardens that makes this city the most beautiful destination for the famous artists who were looking for a quiet place to develop their talent as writers. The movie is a nice combination of Paris in 2010 and Paris in the past, when the famous artists and writers were there like Ernest Hamingway, F Scott Fitzgerald, Picasso, Gertrud Stein, and Salvador Dali. Throughout the movie the director didn’t just show us Paris and its tourist locations, but also took us to destinations out of the city such as Versailles and Monet’s gardens in Giverny. Then, there were all the warmly lit shots of the cafes, restaurants, and the famous shops such as Coco Channel and Dior. In addition, the beauty of the sights and the photos grabbed the viewer’s attention to want to watch this movie and to discover a lot of more information about some of the most famous artists in the early 19th century.…

Also, it is important that the right people pass by the store—in other words, the target market. Considering that the target market, as mentioned before, are wealthy young and middle aged people who look for status and social recognition, a good place to place the products can be in Le Marais. Le Marais is the place where most of the fashion-designer boutiques are, and has become a trendy place to shop for young and middle aged French people. There are several main streets like Rue des Rosiers, Rue de Temple, and Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, which turn into pedestrian streets on Sundays. Also, due to the high number of bars, restaurants, and hotels around, and is one of the few open areas on Sundays in Paris, it is a very crowded and transited…
