My Declaration Of Independence
I crave independence. All my life, I've had to depend on other people. I want to be able to think for myself and have the ability to act upon those thoughts and feelings. In “the Declaration of Independence” (1776), Thomas Jefferson, argues that the colonies need to get their independence from Great Britain because instead of respecting them they have been abusing and taking advantage of the colonies. Thomas Jefferson reinforces his point of view by listing all the ways that King George has been abusing his powers, and he points out how all men deserve “ life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” (95). Jefferson knows that his people aren’t happy with the way that they are being treated, so in order to stand up for his people and support them he declared independence from Britain. In a serious and furious tone he made it clear to King George and the british people that they didn’t want to keep being unhappy…

In the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence, it states that every human is created equally by God. The colonist argument for freedom is the Laws of Nature and God impel them separate from the injustice that Britain was enforcing on them. The colonies have grown to be independent because of Britain’s loose rule on them, until Britain needed funds to support their war against France.
