The healthcare field is a sure bet when looking for a career that pays good, as well as a career that you can get a sense of fulfillment out of. I have worked as a C.N.A. for the past six years and I have enjoyed it, but I want to take the next step in my life, as well as my career. The skills I have learned as a C.N.A will carry directly over to my work towards my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The new knowledge I will acquire through the classes will prepare me for a challenging, yet rewarding job that I can be proud of. Everyone who attends school is ultimately hoping to increase their income, this shouldn’t be the only driving factor when deciding on a career, but it is important. By acquiring my Bachelor of Science in Nursing I will not only have a career I will enjoy, but I will also be able to live comfortably and provide for my family. I feel if you work so hard to get through school you should reap the benefits of a better life after you do so.

However, coming to the United States created the turning point in my life. I searched for engineering jobs unsuccessfully for many months, and none was forthcoming despite availability of many job openings in nursing and healthcare related fields. In order to confirm my readiness to pursue nursing as a career, I entered a Practical Nursing program at the Wilbur Wright College in Chicago. At this time, I was still driving cab to support myself, while I dropped it completely upon graduation and passing LPN board examination.…
