STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Strong interest in Computer concepts since school days and burning desire to become an engineer motivated me to clear one of the most difficult engineering entrance exams in the Indian subcontinent. I got the opportunity to study Electronics and Communication at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore-Karnataka.
Right from my school, I had a penchant towards Mathematics, Science and research in general. This basic interest led me to take up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my major subjects in high school.
My interests in Communication and Networking concepts urged during my graduation years while studying subjects like C Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Micro Processors and Computer Networks. I took C++ in the next semester of studies which helped to gain a lot more knowledge on Computer programming and its networking system.
My Major Project was on “Wireless Home Security and Automation Using ZigBee” in the final year, taken under Senior Lecturer M.RAJAGOPAL, given the fact that the existing wireless smart home system can only cover up to a certain range of area that is limited by the range of wireless module being used. This project introduces the conceptual understanding and strategy of ZigBee IEEE 802.15.4 standard to be deployed in smart home environment and offers two important features of smart home, namely- Home Security and Home Automation. ZigBee has multi-hop communication capability, hence providing an unlimited range of communication.
I have been involved in a couple of internal demo projects at Infosys. The first project was titled as Infy Motors which involved automation of the whole process involved in an Automobile industry. It also involved the Interfacing of different plants of Automobile provider, Automation of the booking process and linking that to producing Automobiles,

The main factor for not completing the project is team failure which is because of poor overall initial planning. When there are unrealistic goals being set, creating a chaotic working environment there is bound to be nothing but pure failure of the project and its successin the near future. There can be two major causes for the team project failures; overdue or missed time standards, and going beyond set financial plans. With the interpretation of day to day basis risk assessments into team developed projects, there is a more realistic set of guidelines, and procedures put into place. The definition of a risk assessment states , “ that it is theidentification, evaluation, and estimation of the main levels of risks involved in a situation, their comparison against benchmarks or standards, and determination of an acceptable level of risk”. With set risk assessment techniques, the team may further eradicate all possible liabilities or future occurrences within the project team.…

The Project Management Team will need a proactive approach in the management of risks and related uncertainty. Management of risks for this project will follow a continuous risk management model, refined as the PLC develops. Involvement of support from the business, technical, executive, and external partners is crucial to having a viable risk management process. Tasks will be evaluated and identified for the mitigation of risks; uncertainty of organizational environmental factors will be included in the evaluation of impact and probability, as appropriate. This will ensure that tracking of progress, or lack thereof, occurs and necessary resources are identified for corrective/mitigating actions planned.…

My interest in science developed early in high school through the encouraging words of a biology teacher. That carried on in my undergraduate career when I decided to major in Biomedical Physics, a unique and small degree program, which helped me integrate my interest in physical science with medicine. It became evident that I was to pursue a career in the science field, and during my time in 4-H I discovered the desire to serve others.…

I have been interested in science and math since I was reading books with science experiments in second grade. Applying math and science skills to solve everyday problems has intrigued me from an early age. I am always curious about how things work. Since taking AP Physics this year, I have been able to appreciate how math and science work together. I have taken other rigorous courses, but often it felt like learning math was isolated from other coursework. Math challenges me to problem solve and think at a higher level. I also love science, but until I took AP Physics my science classes were too easy. The labs in freshmen and sophomore science were enjoyable, but I never got a sense of how they connected to other concepts in Biology and Chemistry.…

When asked in class every year which subject I admired the most, my answer was always “none”. Although the grades in my core curriculum classes were always excellent, I never found interest in the basic subjects. Math was a bunch of numbers with letters, science just reviewed our bodies and the how the world was believed to be through one scientist theories and history repeated itself, constantly. As a freshman, I contemplated tremendously over what major and career I would pursue for the rest of my life. I never knew there were more subjects than just science, English, math and history until the day my mother introduced me to unraveling my creativity in the summer.…

Since primary school, I have considered myself a math and science guy. My sophomore year, I found that chemistry was one of the most intriguing classes I had ever taken. I enjoyed the subject so much that I decided to take biology in summer school so I could enroll in AP Chemistry my junior year. This year, I am working as a teaching assistant for my AP Chemistry teacher. Chemistry appeals to me because I am curious about the way our world works on a molecular level, and being able to help explain it to others as a teaching assistant has given me an…

At college my favourite subjects include physics and mathematics as I take great pleasure in applying the concepts learned on real life situations. Mathematics is often described as the building blocks of life; everything around us consists of mathematics, without numbers it would be impossible for engineers to make predictions. Although to me the real beauty of mathematics is the challenge presented in problem solving and the pleasure one gets in conquering the problem. My main objective for studying…
