Movie Analysis: The Lone Survivor Movie Review
The movie I chose to review is the Lone Survivor. Lone Survivor was released on

December, 25, 2013 in the bigger theaters and cities but then released to everyone on January

10, 2014 and had a gross profit of $125,069,696. The top paid casts members were Mark

Wahlberg, Emile Hirsch, Ben Foster, Eric Bana, and Dan Bilzerian. There were many producers

of the Lone Survivor, however, the top five are Akiva Goldsman, Randall Emmett, Sarah Aubrey,

Barry Spikings, and Norton Herrick and it was directed by Peter Berg. The awards that Lone

Survivor won are, outstanding action performance by a stunt ensemble in a motion picture,

best action movie, best actor in an action movie (Mark Wahlberg), best action film, and top ten

The Lone Survivor is in fact

based on a true story and there is also a book called Lone Survivor as well about Operation

Redwing. The movie Lone Survivor is based off of history and the book itself. There have been

no other books written or T.V. shows produced nor any other spin offs. This movie didn’t jump

start anyone’s carrier but it added onto Mark Wahlberg’s already highly decorated career.

Lone Survivor was a group of four elite Navy Seals. The team leader, Marcus Luttrell, set

out on a mission called Operation Redwing to take out or capture Ahmad Shah, a Taliban

leader. After setting out on their mission, a goat farmer is bringing up 100 or so goats up the

mountain. The Navy Seals were left with no choice but to follow engagement rules or be

imprisoned. Letting the goat herders go shortly after the four men were left with no choice but

to fight for their lives. Marcus Luttrell was the only survivor after the most valiant effort of

modern warfare, crawling through the woods and finding a waterhole where he was yet again

surrounded by men. This group of men however were not part of the Taliban.

The main message Bowden tries to portray in the story is that of brotherhood. The men on the ground were fighting for their lives. They deeply cared for each other and when one of their battle buddy’s was lost they tried their hardest to never leave a fallen comrade behind. These men never gave up and always stood ready to fight to protect those around them. Another message to be taken from Bowden’s book is to adequately prepare for the fight. The men who were out in…

David Fallon’s film, Call of the Wild, is movie surrounding the adventures of a young man and his dog. I watched the film on my computer on July 1st, 2015. The movie begins with a kidnapped dog, named Buck, being auctioned off. Buck immediately steals the attention of young Miles, the other protagonist in the movie. Buck initially works as a sled dog for a Yukon mail carrier. On his first job, Buck faces severe weather, wolf attacks, and a fight with Spitz, the team’s lead dog. The harsh conditions kill every dog except for Buck and leaves the mail carrier in a near-death condition. Buck saves the mail carrier, but is sold again to two travelers, Hal and Mercedes. Miles is hired as a travel guide for the duo. Hal mistreats the dogs, refuses to listen to Miles, and eventually causes his own death. Mercedes and Miles are able to survive the journey with Buck’s aid.…

Many films have come and gone without audiences remembering even the title of the film. However, Ang Lee's film Brokeback Mountain (2005) (BKM, exp. 1) is a controversial film that stuck different emotions among viewers such as, “'Gay cowboy movie' shatters stereotypes” (Clinton, sec. 2) with two handsome young cowboys Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) and Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) who fall in love, which is not viewer’s typical western genre expectation. While Ang Lee's, Brokeback Mountain, will remain an important piece of cinema now and one hundred years in the future because, the genre of the film makes it memorable to audiences, stimulating cinematography and sound, the incredible use of mise-en-scene, and the film not conforming to America's ideology.…

Following the quote, the film “Lone Survivor” was played. The film focused on a group of Navy SEALs, including one named Marcus, who are going into Afghanistan in order to kill the Taliban leader. The Taliban leader is responsible for killing over twenty US Marines as well as people who had allegedly helped or aided the United States. When facing the Taliban, the Navy SEALs are outnumbered and several are killed. Back-up is called, although when that fails, more Navy SEALs are killed. Marcus remains as the last Navy SEAL alive on the mission, or a “lone survivor”, and is rescued by a villager. The villager takes Marcus into his home and prevents the Taliban from killing him. The villager does this as Marcus is a guest in his home, meaning the…

The Soloist, with its root in a real life story, offers a remarkable opportunity to observe a number of very essential disputes in the long-term management of schizophrenia. The film gives us a good example of how the effect of the illness can have on the words, thoughts, perceptions and behavior of sufferers and highlights the fluctuations that occur naturally in the disorder. It also elevates the topic of treatment and the individual’s right to choose whether or not he or she wants to take medication. As a training tool for many doctors to seek practice with patients of their own, this film could provide a wonderful starting point for a discussion about when the use of the Mental Health Act in the United Kingdom becomes suitable and when we must and always respect a person’s right to choose their treatment options.…
