Green & Green (G&G) performs various lawn and garden maintenance activities, including lawn mowing, tree and shrub pruning, fertilizing, and treating for pests. Unlike other lawn and garden businesses, G&G also specializes in landscape design and planting. Management is pleased that the design specialty is so much in demand. However, management is concerned because profits have been falling, even though sales have been growing over the past few years.

Description of G&G’s product-line:

The lawn mowing business involves mowing lawns and trimming edges for customers who generally sign up for the season and pay a flat fee based on surface area mowed and trimmed. The layout design business involves both designing a garden and lawn layout and installing the design. Other maintenance includes tree and shrub pruning and application of chemicals.

Revenues and costs of G&G’s product-line:

G&G’s revenues and direct costs (materials and wages) are traced directly to each one of the products in the product-line. However, other indirect costs (equipment and general business costs) are allocated on the basis of revenue. A schedule of G&G’s revenues and costs follow:

|G&G Revenues and Direct Costs |

If I could start a business I would start a lawn care and services business because I enjoy gardening, working outside. With a lawn care service it is a stable and a repeat business, for the customer that do not have time or just do not want to do there on lawn. For those customers from late spring the early Fall they will need their lawns mowed once a week, making for a stable business. There will be some challenge in starting this business, lawn care has many competitors. Just by doing a web search for lawn care services there were multiple pages some are well known and others are may you of one or two persons. Then there is the expenses of starting up, equipment and a way transport the equipment insurance on vehicles, equipment and employees. Also insurance that would cover damages that may occur during your services. During the startup customer base may be low, because people do not know the company. The strategies for overcoming these challenges would be to start with a good business plan, with doing this I would ask for help from people successful in business. There are many websites one of them is SBA.GOV which is the U.S. Small Business Administration. As for obtaining a customer base, advertisement with the use of social media and creating a website, use Craigslist attend lawn and garden show and pass out flyers and business card, make use of Groupon. Based on the business plan if it would be a good idea to purchasing an existing business, this could provide both customer base and equipment. Also for the customer base I would place bids on city property that had to be taken care of and contact with other small business owners. The desired outcome of this would be to provide a service that is needed and own a business that is well known and respected. That the business would grow from a small to a medium size company and never lose site customer relationships and customer satisfaction.…

G&A costs are generally billed as a percent of total costs, or items such as labor, materials, or equipment. Using the sums of direct and overhead costs for work packages, it is possible to cumulate the costs for any deliverable for the entire project (Gray & Larson, 2005).…

As its name implies, Lastminute.com is good for late deals. For hotels, this can be in the form of "top secret hotels", where discounts of up to 50 per cent are possible if one willing to book blind. The organization also impresses for the sheer amount of stuff it offers. As with its rival (expedia) online travel agents; package holidays, flights and car hire are just part of offers that can be booked on the site. It also offers spa breaks, restaurant deals, theme park packages, "experiences" (everything from indoor skydiving to chocolate making). As such, it scores highly for inspiration. Prominent on the home page are sections titled "Thinking of going away?" and "Thinking of going out?" – with suggestions to the questions posed.…

Over the last two decades, nations, Uganda inclusive, have opened up their telecommunication sectors to other players, a step that has killed off government monopoly over the sector hence creating competition. The liberalization of the telecommunication industry in Uganda, first took place in the early to mid-1990’s as part of the broader Structural Adjustments and later on culminated into the opening up of the whole industry in 2006 when the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) was formed. This resulted from the need to modify the telecommunication industry.…

HYPERLINK "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agriculture"Agriculture, accounting for 90 percent of GDP in 1985 and employing approximately 80 percent of the work force, is the traditional mainstay of the Cambodian economy. Rice, the staple food, continued to be the principal commodity in this sector. Rice production, a vital economic indicator in Cambodia's agrarian society, frequently fell far short of targets, causing severe food shortages in 1979, 1981, 1984, and 1987. The plan's 1987 target for the total area to be devoted to rice cultivation was 1.77 million hectares, but the actual area under cultivation in 1987 amounted to only 1.15 million hectares. After 1979 and through the late 1980s, the agricultural sector performed poorly. Adverse weather conditions, insufficient numbers of farm implements and of draft animals, inexperienced and incompetent personnel, security problems, and government collectivization policies all contributed to low productivity.Collectivization of the agricultural sector under the Heng Samrin regime included the formation of solidarity groups. As small aggregates of people living in the same locality, known to one another, and able to a certain extent to profit collectively from their work, they were an improvement over the dehumanized, forced-labor camps and communal life of the Pol Pot era. The organization of individuals and families into solidarity groups also made sense in the environment of resource-poor, post-war Cambodia. People working together in this way were able to offset somewhat the shortages of manpower, draft animals, and farm implements.…
