This makes me think that she is selfish by telling people these things. For example, “Miss Strangeworth would frown a little and sound stern- ‘but it should have been a statue of my grandfather. There wouldn’t have been a town here at all if it hadn’t been for my grandfather and the lumber mill.” She sounded very stern and selfish towards the people and visitors of the town. She thought the statue should have been of her grandfather.
