Children in their early years may have a range of needs and the way that we work together as practitioners can have a positive impact on their health, development and learning. For example, a teacher may have noticed that one of the young children in the class may not respond sometimes when their name is called and they sometimes do not do their work but when they are shown what to do they carry out their work perfectly. The teacher suspects that the child may have difficulty hearing but without the help of a medical professional she would not be able to check the child’s hearing and try and find an outcome helpful to the needs of the child and vice versa.
