The military and the branches of the military (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Navy). Are all heroes of the United States and something that is very important to any u.s citizen. The reason for that is because someone is risking their life to protect ours. Without them we would have no one to protect us from many things that have happened in the past such as wars, nuclear bombs and other harmful and mind blowing attacks that have taken place. They deserve a lot of appreciation which is why we have military appreciation month. Military appreciation month begins in November. What is military appreciation month? Military appreciation month is where you give back to families that have someone in the military or in any branch.

It is important to keep honoring our veterans because they have sacrificed so much for this country. Also we honor them because we need to tell them how appreciative we are of their dutiful service to our country. Even the president honors our veterans. Each year the president or one of his representatives lays a wreath on The Tomb of The Unknown Soldiers in the Arlington Cemetery every Veterans Day to honor those veterans. Even though the first unknown soldier was laid to rest there on Armistice day on the year of 1921 this ceremony still continues. This is one way that shows just how important honoring our veterans…

The well-known Star Spangled Banner elaborates on the land of the free, and the home of the brave - but why does this free land exist, and who are the brave? The United States Armed Forces are the federal military forces of the United States. They consist of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. This coalition was founded on June 14, 1755 and the current Minister of Defense is Ash Carter. There are also three general categories of military people; active duty, who are full-time soldiers and sailors, reserve & guard forces, who are individuals who work a civilian job but can be called to full-time military duty, and veterans and retirees, who are the past members of the military. “However hard the incidents of war may be, the soldier who is called upon to offer and give his life for his country is the noblest development of mankind”(MacArthur.Duty, Honor, Country). In America honor is often seen as a man or woman going out to serve for their country and risk their life in the process. No matter how hard war may seem a soldier who is given the chance to serve their country and takes that opportunity is a hero. “Around a thousand campfires, I have witnessed that enduring fortitude, that patriotic self-abnegation, and that invincible determination which have carved his statue in the hearts of his people”(MacArthur.Duty, Honor, Country). Throughout all that he’s seen, General MacArthur says that he’s viewed neverending courage, loyalty, and untouchable willpower, that has made its way into the hearts and minds of…

We fight because we believe. Not that war is good, but that sometimes it is necessary. Our soldiers fight and die not for the glory of war, but for the prize of freedom and the ideologies that our country stands for. So great, were these ideologies, that men and women have bravely fought to defend them. OUR COUNTRY HAS FACED MANY TESTS OF COURAGE since its birth. Our answer to tests can be found in cemeteries from the islands of the Pacific to the coast of northern France. You can visit the hills in Arlington National Cemetery where markers record the names of more than 280,000 men and women. Each one was once or still is the most important person in someone's life. WITH EACH LOSS IN WAR, the world is changed forever for the family and friends left behind. IT IS UP TO US TO GIVE MEANING FOR THEIR SACRIFICE and de devoted to those principles for which these heroic citizens gave their lives. There is NO GREATER LOVE than to give your life for another. Our fallen comrades have demonstrated that love, and that my friends, is what Memorial Day is all about. FOR YOU TOMORROW, THEY SACRIFICED THEIR…

Through our careers in the Marine Corps we hear about amazing battles, heroic deaths, medals of Honor, and wounded warriors. Marines have given their lives to protect each other and defeat the enemy. We all have a favorite super hero and mine doesn’t wear a cape and at the time of his heroic action was a rank below me. Private Hector Cafferata received his Medal of Honor after killing numerous fire teams of the Chinese army. If he played baseball before joining the Marines he proved it by using his E-Tool like a bat and knocking back thrown grenades.…
