[pic][pic]

Usain Bolt was born on the 21st of August 1986, he was raised by his Mum and Dad in a small town called Trelawny. He has one sister and one brother. Usain Bolt spent his time playing cricket and football when he was young.

Usain Bolt took place in the men’s 100m sprint event at the 2008 Olympic Games which took place on the 15th and 16th of August at the Beijing national stadium. The final was won by Usain Bolt who made a record of 9.69 seconds.

Usain Bolt is my role model because he is the world’s fastest 100m sprinter. When I was younger I always went to every Athletics Carnival and competed in the 100m sprint.

Usain Bolt ran the 100m sprint, the aim of this is to run a 100m field as fast as you can and try to stay on your own lane.

During the London Olympic Games Usain Bolt got 1st place, Yohan Blake got 2nd place and Justin Gatlin got 3rd place.

Bolt achieved a gold medal in the 100m race, 200m race and the 4x100m relay. He also achieved those 3 gold metals during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Participating in the previous three Olympic games, Usain Bolt from Jamaica holds the world record for the 100-meter dash. A normal human would struggle to complete his rigorous training, yet Bolt trains daily, spending “90 minutes in the gym every day” (Citation). He focuses on speed and agility, core strengthening, and weight training during those ninety minutes. Examples of his power-filled workout include reverse crunches, box hops, cable knee drives, medicine ball slams, barbell lunges, sled drag, and more. Bolt performs each action quickly and explosively. For speed training, he completes twenty block starts and steadily runs repeated 20, 30, and 100 meters for an hour, each sprint working on acceleration, deceleration, or top-end speed. (Citation). He will sprint wearing a weighted vest, and he varies his speed and length of rest to place him in the most developed athletic shape to win.…
