Maya Angelou Marguerite Johnson also known as Maya Angelou was an extremely talented and insightful women. Since she was multi-talented she was able to accomplished many things in her life. Maya was a poet, dancer, actor, musician, author, playwright, and a civil rights activist. She was born in the early 1900s so she experienced racism and racial prejudices and it really reflects in a lot of her work. In her writings she has a specific tone and structure, she also often times uses figurative language that relates to what she has been through/experienced.     Next, Angelou uses different types of sentences to highlight how she fights oppression with confidence.
