COURSE OBJECTIVES

Most of our students (B Tech and MBA) are engineers in various disciplines. It is natural that they develop their career in the “Manufacturing Function” of organizations they join. This course prepares them to take up the responsibilities as the “Manufacturing Chief” or the “Manufacturing Vice President” of the company. Briefly, the course introduces them to the ideas of strategy of a firm; and later helps them to contribute, as manufacturing chief, to the strategy of the firm. Every class has research articles scheduled for presentation by students of the course and each class has a case scheduled for discussion. It is the responsibility of the student to read and analyze the case assigned for the class and present his views in class discussion.
