Manufacturing and Demand
Q1.Assume that you are in the Marketing Group:
* Convince the company that it is essential that we offer a 1.8” drive.
Ans: It is always said and we know that there should and would be “change” in a company. The Organizations which are ready bring the change in their company has enhanced their value from the past. We all know that without a change there is no revolution in the company and there will not be any growth in their esteem. Considering present situation in the given question I feel that there is huge demand for 1.8” drive. It is as simple to say that the production depends on the demand but not on any other factor unless the situation is in worse. Finally, 1.8” drives should be manufactured to reach the demand.

Q2. Assume that you are in the Management Group:
* Convince the company that it is a mistake to develop the 1.8” drive.
Ans: Coming to the Management team they always look at other companies’ production and move their company forward. They always compare the other companies in these cases. There is no profit even in the case of huge investments. Even if other companies goes with the old technology we should follow the demand of the market. If this strategy is going to be considered by the company in the timely manner they can grab the complete market and in result demand and profits also increases. This is the strong reason to manufacture the 1.8” drive than the 2.5” drives by observing the other companies what they are doing.

Sports teams are switching to a variable-pricing strategy for tickets so that they can get a higher profit on games with record attendance numbers. They feel the need to do so because the marginal costs, such as construction payment and players’ salaries, did not equal to the marginal revenue, since attendance was severely dropping. To pay for the marginal cost, the sports team needed to capitalize on things that they were sure of, like increasing attendances to games between major sporting rivals.…

In the Super Project case, Crosby set out to argue that the current methodologies being utilized by General Foods Corporation to determine which capital investments to pursue did not always fit the bill. Crosby advocated using alternative methods for evaluation of Super including: 1) Incremental Basis, 2) Facilities Used Basis, and 3) Fully Allocated Basis. He provided the Corporate Budgets and Analysis management team with documentation that articulated each of the methods he used, the results obtained, discussion points, and ultimately his conclusions. As can be seen from the illustration below, each alternative provided vastly different outcomes, thus begging the question – which method should General Foods use? Our team analyzed Crosby’s suggested methods and then also included other capital budgeting techniques, such as IRR, NPV, and CBR. Using these concepts, we were able to compare and draw upon our own conclusions in order to provide a recommendation on whether to invest in the project or not.…

What are the effects of international trade to GDP, domestic markets, and university students? International trade comprises exports and imports, the net result of which affects our GDP. Since our imports exceed our exports, our GDP would be impacted by our net exports or deficits. “The rippling effect of financing deficits is an increase in interest rates from selling bonds that reduces investments and growth. This further reduces GDP” (Colander. 2010). Domestic markets flourish when there is a demand for local products overseas. If the domestic markets have to compete with imported products it could be a struggle. However jobs can be created for the advertising, sales, and distribution of foreign imports. The effect of international trade on university students has recently brought about an awareness of a vibrant industry in the education services. Of the 35 billion dollar worldwide market for international students, the U S was able to capture a market share of 45%, showing a healthy surplus of $12.6 Billion in higher education..…
