Gandhi also wanted to help women and bring peace and equality to India saying that women were capable to other things then cooking (Document 11). Gandhi did not want the women to be treated different as men and peacefully showed his ideas of this through speeches and teaching others. While Gandhi remained peaceful throughout his mission of gaining equality and unity some of his supporters disobeyed and instead fought violently.

    He had demanded the release of the British rule over India. It was because of the discrepancies between India and the British that Gandhi decided to started the "Quit India Movement." It was through this that many people stood up to stop colonialism on India. Mahatma worked hard to enhance the status of the lower class people in society.     Mohandas Gandhi advocated equality in his country. India had segregated many groups into castes, gender, and religion. In the caste system, those of a lower rank were treated as lesser humans. “To say that a single human being, because of his birth, becomes an untouchable, unapproachable, or invisible, is to deny God” (Document 4).
