Luther Steinhart Character Analysis
For a person holding the position of supreme commander of Arcadia kingsom, the behavior of Luther Steinhart right now is quite awkward for a feared commander in the battlefield. His soldiers in the army will be shocked if they saw the fear and cowardice reflecting in the usually gallant face of their commander.

Supreme Commander Luther Steinhart faced the legion of the neighboring kingdom and swarm of monsters invading Arcadia kingdom but he's now nervously gazing at the lone child sitting in the root of the huge tree at the back of the orphanage. For Luther this is the most challenging task he ever done in his twenty-five years of life, fighting might be easier for him than approaching that child.

The kid stares suspiciously at this 'government official'. "Let me bring you to the office of the director."

"Can I hold your hand?," despite knowing how weird he is acting right now. Luther reason out that he is not good with directions so they might got separated. Really. When the area property of the foster home is not that even big for you to get lost.

Luther nervously explains his purpose to the director and after that, let the child enter the office as well.

"Ashe," the director gently called this poker-faced child,"this handsome young man here is a commander of Arcadia kingdom . . . he is-."

"Wants to adopt you!," the young man shouted. Realizing his mistake, he coughed and tried to imitate the gentle way of speaking of the director but ends up with a distorted expression instead, "I want to adopt you as my heir." Afraid to the reaction of Ashe, he quickly flee from the director's office but not after saying ,"My assistant will handle all the necessary matters."

The director laugh at coward appearance of 'Fierce Supreme Commander Luther' and an unnoticeable smile blossom in the expressionless

Throughout time children have always been symbolic of innocence; a reflection upon society's mindset which is why Colonel Graff's actions regarding the treatment of the children is such an abhorrent act. Although ability wise, children in the military school like Ender are mature, their emotional development is at the same stage as ordinary children outside the war based environment that they are faced with. This vulnerability ever present in children means that the audience feels that the manipulative acts by Graff towards Ender are unethical and acts of an apathetic person. This treatment by Graff also results in the…

We see the indoctrination process, him mourning, his childish pride in being smarter than an adult, there are even moments of humor. The end scene of the movie where Laokole can finally defend herself against what would have been rape by Johnny and begins to beat him with his own rifle starts out as a victorious moment soon just leaves me feeling despondent over the entire situation. While the film offers a complex perspective on punishment of child soldiers, it makes one thing very clear, when dealing with child soldiers there is no ‘straight…

The child that I chose to observe was a nine year old boy that I will refer to as Dan. Dan is a highly gifted child who, unfortunately, suffers from cerebral palsy, as well as panic attacks. His parents are divorced and he lives with his mother, who has remarried. His father who also has remarried, does have contact with him, though the relationship is somewhat strained. He comes from an upper middle class background, and has no brothers or sisters. I observed Dan in the waiting room for about an hour (his mother was good enough to bring him in for his appointment a little early so that I could observe him). The room contained many toys and books for varying ages, as well as a number of magazines for both kids and adults. The walls were covered with different pictures and posters, and there were a number of chairs.…
