Life In The South

Life in the North and in the South were different in many ways, the reasons why is because of their society, transportation, and geography. first , there society was different because in the North 7 in 10 people lived on farms meaning the cities were growing rapidly. In the city, there were mainly rich or powerful people. More than a million people in the north lived in New York. In the South they were mainly made up of farmers and workers and they had slaves working for them. Because many were wealthy slave owners on farms they didn't have big rapid growing cities. The people in the south were mainly middle class. Second, the transportation difference is not as far as a gap as a society. The south had steam transportation, meaning they
